    KC question

So I'm being flown to KC tomorrow for a few hours for an interview. If I am lucky enough to be offered the job, I doubt I will be back to look at apartments and what not before I moved.

    My question to fellow CFers:

The job is located downtown. Anyone know of some nice apartment/lofts I can look at while I'm wasting a couple hours? Any nice restaurants downtown for lunch? Should I even be thinking at looking at places downtown?

Also, where can I find some girls in yoga pants?

    Thanks guys!

Jack Stack BBQ my fav. Also there is a Flying Saucer that has a great beer selection just off the P&L district.

i would suggest Jack Stack in the Freight House District plus you'll find plenty of lofts in that area

    PPL District, baby.

Yoga pants? Think open park near the Train Station. Or check out the Starlight. NASCAR mall is not bad for hunting purposes either.

I do want to go to Jack Stack. Maybe just hail a cab at the airport and go down there then check out P&L. I'm assuming it is safe between there? I know next to nothing about downtown KC (if it isn't obvious).

I would also say Jack stack downtown. You can also look at some lofts around that area also.

Forget Lofts and Food. The man asked for yoga pants!

A world without yoga pants and Planter's cheese balls, is a world I no longer want to live in.

It's safe. It might look a little sketchy, but I used to run there all the time and never had a problem. You could walk through the Crossroads or the Westside, and both are pretty sweet neighborhoods.

If you want to be a badass (and save some money) you should look for a loft in the West Bottoms west of Downtown.

Man I wish! In KC by noon, back in DC by 10, unfortunately.

Kansas City is incredibly safe, especially during the daytime hours and west of Troost.

There is a Crossfit gym on 45th and Belleview. That is probably your best bet for yoga pants. That or around 5-6pm when women around the Plaza take their dogs out for a walk...

For housing, check out downtown lofts, midtown lofts (around 16th to 24th St), and Plaza apartments. If you like to socialize, drink, and generally have a good time, I live in a condo complex around the Plaza with other 20-30 somethings. It is a really fun place to live and there are frequently places to rent if buying isn't your thing. PM if you want more info

    Re: KC question

Downtown KC has improved vastly since I moved down here 13 years ago...you won't have a problem walking around, it's a great place to do just that...

You could walk from the Stack to downtown if you wanted, little bit of a jaunt though...

If you end up getting the job IM me, there are some great lofts downtown and I have a friend with connections to multiple loft managers...she knows the best places to live...

Jack Stack Freighthouse. There's also a really good German restaurant next to Jack Stack. Missing the name, but my parents said it's great. Also Power and Light District has some good restaurants there as well and nice little gathering space to kind of chill and take a break.
