Interesting that his recruiting page is blank, no offers/interest of commitment and he is a senior... Wonder what the story is there.

The thread title reminds me of Space Jam.

Baseball bat? Get this guy a tennis racket!

FWIW, Mahoney could probably nail a 64 yarder off a tee too.

We need consistency 40 yards and closer.

Re: Get this kid a scholarship

As a hobby, I cover football on the radio for a small southwest iowa radio station. I've been fortunate to be able to cover some games for 8 man powerhouse Fremont Mills. Fremont Mills has a horse by the name of Nate Meir that CPR should take a look at.
I know it's only 8 man football but this kid is unreal. He's stands like 6'2 and pounds out at like 225lbs. He can play either running back or defensive line. Personally I look for him to be in a linebacker in college. If he doesn't already know, someone needs to let CPR know about this kid.

If he is truly interested in playing DI football why doesn't he attend a camp or two?

I'm hoping he has. It's been real quiet around southwest iowa about him.. I'm serious when I say that I haven't seen a better athlete this year around here. That includes Collin Bevins of Creston.
I've seen a few games of Collin Bevins and he's not bad. I'm still wondering why there is so much hype about him but I'll go with it. In his defense, Bevins gets double and triple teamed every down he plays. Bevins must be pretty good because the Hawks offered him last week.
The word is that Bevins is thinking about the offer even though he gave a verbal to ISU.

I'd settle for a kid that can consistently make the 35-40 yarder rather than someone who can hit from 60 once in awhile. Mahoney can do that.

I think that the thing about Bevins is that he's athletic for his size. And he hasn't even scratched the surface on how big he can get due to wrestling. Get him in the weightroom for a few years and he'll go from 6'5 230 to 6'5 285. Think Jake McDonough. And, I don't think that he's good because iowa offered, I think he's good because ISU offered. I've seen enough of CPR to realize that he can evaluate just as well or better than KF can. I don't think that we need validation from UI for any of our recruits. He's supposedly an ISU fan, so I'm betting that he sticks with his word like Barkley Hill has.
