Torn ACLs are no fun. I'm a little under a year removed from my surgery and there are moments where it still sucks.

Did he tear his ACL last year? Or was that a different MU forward?

Tore it in a pickup game yesterday. Have to think our chances get a little better. Probable preseason all-B12 pick on the likely favorite to win the B12. Still has a redshirt.

You might be thinking about Safford. He tore his two years ago.

cynical angle? this helps out haith, who now doesn't have to worry about the expectations of being really good in year one. he can say his best big guy was injured and that's why they're not playing well.

Is Missouri really the favorite with a first-year coach? I'm not being sarcastic, just asking.

Yep, your right, Justin Safford. And I'm off a year too.

Bowers is one of, if not the best power forward type on MU's team. This will definitely hurt them.

Re: Wow... MU's Bowers out for year with torn ACL

Feel for him. I would imagine he'll get a 5th year if he wants it.

CBS (Goodman) wrote an article within an hour of the news breaking - I guess this makes them overwhelmingly guard-oriented, as they aren't a big/ deep post team. The thought is that if they go four-guards, allowing them to get their best players on the floor, Kim English (6'-6", 200#) will have to guard the 4.

    Their remaining post options include:
    Ratliffe: 6'-8" 240#
    Moore: 6'-9" 267# - SR., avg'd 2 pts/ game last year
    Green: 6'-8" 210# - RS FR
    Feldmann: 6'-9" 215# - SO

Losing Bowers is a massive blow to Mizzou - CBSSports.com

They were expected to be in the race, likely top 3...

    A tweet for your enjoyment:

Got to slide Mizzou back in the Big 12 picture. Texas A&M, Baylor, Kansas 1,2,3, in front with Iowa State as sleeper.
