    WBB Press Conference

    Quick notes:

ISU has been fighting nagging injuries this summer. Prins missed 60 days of working out (mid-July until recently).

Most interesting thing: Mansfield will start out playing the 2 this year. Cole and Moody will be PG. Mansfield, Harris, Schroll, Williamson will be in the mix at 2/3. Everyone else 4 and 5. It seems he thinks of Ellis as more of a frontcourt player than a backcourt one (maybe a 4 in a small lineup or a 3 in a three-post lineup).

    Re: WBB Press Conference

I personally think Moody has a shot at being the starting PG. Maybe not right away, but by the end of the season. Cole is what she is. She's a solid defender and a decent true PG but her scoring skills are limited. Mansfield is a decent shooter but struggles to create her own shot, one reason she may have been moved to the 2.

This would be a great time to have Vanloo in the mix at PG as well. It sucks she has to wait a year (if she does come).

Unless Moody shows early on she is the real deal, I'll bet Mansfield will be back at the point by mid-December. BF does not like to mess around at the point when the conference begins.

    Vanloo, sigh.

The more I think of it the more Hallie strikes me as one to grow into a leader. She wowed me last year beyond expectations and as Coach Fennelly says she is solid. Hallie defends, she shoots inside, H.C. can take it long, she has decent ball-handling at 6'3" and she is as consistent and smart as we have.

Christofferson has what Anna lacks in health. Chelsea can not compare to the all-around game H.C. brings. Quietly confident, and with a skill set that may take her into Iowa State WBB history, Hallie may take this personally and become the fulcum for the team's heavy lifting.

Vanloo would have been a real luxury, though.
