    National team of the week

    I thought this was cool:

    Cyclones honored by Fiesta Bowl
Iowa State's 15-13 win against Iowa Saturday earned the Cyclones the title of Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week.

Select members of the Football Writers Association of America vote each week. Other nominees included Duke for ending the nation's longest losing streak with a 20-14 win at Northwestern, Kentucky for upsetting Louisville and earning its first victory against a top-10 team in three decades, and Utah for racing past UCLA, 44-6.

May my posts be polite and not misunderstood. (And hopefully funny on occasion.)

Yeah I don't get why we are ahead of the Utah game but oh well. Good for us anyway.

That's pretty cool, though I agree that the Utah beat down of UCLA probably should have gotten it. Hopefully it's not the last time that we are mentioned in the same breath as Tostitos Fiesta bowl! Not this year of course, but in the future?

I would also have nominated Michigan pulling out a big win over Notre Dame.

A slapping match is hardly the game of the week, Michigan just so happened to have used closed fists a few times....

If you read the release very fast you can trick your brain into believing we won the Fiesta Bowl.

That's what I did! Woo hoo!

Honestly, Utah was probably more deserving. 0-2 teams don't cream top 15 teams very often, especially 44-7.

Re: National team of the week

Utah was obviously more deserving. Let's be honest, Iowa blows. Beating that team does not warrant any kind of reward, except maybe the "Didn't have to see dumpy chicks walking around wearing Hawkeye gear for one day" award.
