Rank most winnable games from here on out IYO

    1. Kansas
    2. Texas A & M (Homecoming)
    3. at Missouri (I am not sold on Missouri)
    4. at Kansas State (I think 3rd year is a charm for Rhoads - see Iowa game)
    5. at Texas Tech
    6. at Baylor
    7. OKlahoma State
    8. Oklahoma

Sorry about posting a thread earlier about sending messages to Jamie. I was just too frustrated I suppose. Anyway, I have my head out of my @$$ now and I am starting to re-look at the schedule in hope of thinking the positives. I don't see any more sure wins than Kansas. What are your thoughts?

    Kansas.

    the rest.

I still not hopeful that we'll beat my preseason prediction of 4 wins.

I think K State looks tougher than I previously thought, and A&M looks weaker than I thought.
That said, KU and Tech are by far and away the most winnable games we have left.

Here's a stat for people to consider:

A&M is 120th in pass defense. (Oh, and they have yet to play a second half).

Yeah, Tech has yet to prove they can play any defense. And we clearly can.
I see our defense being the difference in that game.

I agree with this. I was at the KU/Tech game Sat. While both offenses were average to good. Both defenses were not good. And the offenses didn't seem to doing anything special.

Re: Rank most winnable games from here on out IYO

Here's the problem as I see it. The games I think are a toss-up on paper are all away games. I have more confidence in saying ISU won't reach a bowl games than saying they will. I expect 5-7 again this year, but that is less an indication that we aren't a good program and more an indication of our schedule and the strength of the Big XII.

    Level 1 (Confident)
Kansas - They are a bad football team right now.

    Level 2 (Games I think are a toss-up)
Kansas State - The Wildcats don't have a great offense so we should be able to hold them to minimal points. Baylor just put up 35 against them. If Baylor had any kind of defense, they would have won.

Level 3 (Games I think we'll lose, but will be competitive - in no particular order)
Texas Tech - Until our offense shows that it isn't turnover and penalty prone, I don't see us puting up 52 against them again in their house. But, then again, it might happen.

Missouri - The Tigers aren't as good as everyone says they are. I think their love affair with the SEC is causing some to think they are a great football powerhouse or something. I don't see it. Still, we play at Columbia which historically has not been good to us.

Baylor - They have no defense. This game actually comes at the perfect time. Next to Kansas, this is the worst defense we will play all year. If our defense can play to their potential and keep Baylor from scoring touchdowns on each possession (that is asking a lot), we have a fighting chance. And @Baylor isn't exactly intimidating.

Level 4 (Games I think we have no shot in)
    Texas A&M
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State

These three are at another level than almost everyone in college football. By process of elimination, they will play each other and therefore someone will have losses, but they are all top 10 teams and will take us to the woodshed.
