I wrote the letter bashing UNI football

to the Register. Yes, I'm embarrassed, I feel horrible, and wish it never was printed. I, like most people have friends that are Hawkeye, ISU, and UNI fans. I have buddies that have played for UNI. What sounded like a funny smack talk email at the time was horrible judgement to send in to the paper. When I found out it was online the night before, I called and spoke to 3 different editors to have them cancel the opinion for the Sunday paper, but was told it was too late and had gone to print. I love all things Iowa State and have my whole life, including the in-state rivalries. I enjoy rivalry smack talk, but now know it should be sent to your friends, not the paper. I wouldn't be on here if I didn't feel this way.

Re: I wrote the letter bashing UNI football

Obviously UNI can beat KU in bball. They are as good as the Dakota schools, some of whoma play the next level up. Ib think UNI could whip up on Minnesota at this point. Sure, why not. Move to the next level. Their fball stadium is only 20k though. They could move bball games back to the fball stadium for big teams.

Hey, I know, we are looking for a ninth or tenth team in the B12.......thqat could bne our instant rivalry game on Tgiving weekend.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.

I don't see a problem with that article.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Re: I wrote the letter bashing UNI football

Not your finest moment for sure. It's great for Iowa to have an FCS football program, give Iowa kids a chance to stay in-state to play that level.

It is true UNI has very few fans of its own. 9 of 10 UNI fans are really fans of some other school first, mainly Iowa.

Nope. They're all FCS, like UNI.

    Nope. More like 16K.

    Nope. Just, stop.
