I think a kicking tryout similar to TTU's is a possibility

I am extremely disappointed with the personal miscues from all 4 games so far, but none more than the kicking game. This is beyond disappointing to have two kickers on scholarship that cannot make a kick. I think we should hold tryouts similar to Texas Tech's. What would have to happen to have this happen?

There are at least 3-4 other place kickers on the roster that would be looked at more before going to that.

then we need to have a look at those 3-4 others, or just stop kicking them all together. it's embarrassing. the fans, and i would think by now, the team has lost confidence in both

It's pretty sad when you go for the 4th down conversion instead of kicking the field goal. (I believe this happened in the 2nd quarter.)

Correct, and I didn't blame the coaches for going for it either. I'm not sure how you have any confidence in either kicker no matter the distance.

Time to go back to middle school football and never kick FG's or XP's.

I'm okay with not kicking field goals, but I don't remember us missing an extra point this year with Guyer. Everyone needs to take a deep breath. And although I personally claim to be an adequate kicker, I doubt we could find anyone better than either Guyer or Mahoney on campus.

Our made field goal % is lower than our 4th down conversion rate.

No one is overreacting when it comes to anger/criticism of kickers.

Guyer and Mahoney are being given scholarships to kick a football. I'm not going to crunch the numbers, but that's a lot of economic value right there. Most people who do their jobs as poorly as these guys have do not keep their jobs.

I just think we should pick one kicker and go with him. Kicking is hard enough and they have enough pressure on them as it is let alone looking over your shoulder all the time.

Agreed. It really makes me nervous that we have not seen any of ISU's other kickers. Are they all worse than these two?
