    Positives to take away?

Although many might disagree, I though Jantz played well. His completion percentage wasn't great, but he was running for his life most of the game.

Just hope LJ, SJ, and KO will all be alright. We need them all if we're going to win games this season.

Nebby is going to lose by a worse score to Wisconsin.

    We're a good team...

If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot.

    Re: Positives to take away?

We have a good D. If our offense would have held on to the ball this would have been a game we had a shot to win in the end. Unfortunately, because of stupid mistakes, we were out of it before the first half was over.

The total yards was about the same.
    We had more first downs.

We just shot ourselves in the foot.

    Re: Positives to take away?

    1. Only got outgained by 20 yards (Texas 400, ISU 380)
    2. Guys fought hard
    3. It's only 1 game...who wouldn't have taken 3-1 right now before the season started?

    Re: Positives to take away?

The score doesnt show it, but I think we played with Texas the whole way. Certainly weren't outmatched like in years past. Can't shoot ourselves in the foot against good teams and get away with it, that was proven today.

    Re: Positives to take away?

We won the second half 14-3

ďI told you, I donít care if youíre black or white. I donít care if youíre rich or poor. I donít care where you come from, whether itís Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I donít care about any of thatÖ But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

And the goal of a bowl game is still in reach.

The following teams are beatable (although tough)

    Baylor
    Missouri
    Texas Tech
    Kansas
    Kansas State

I just wish that 4 of them weren't on the road.

Having Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State at home is tough.

Yep. We gave them the game. But as far as actually lining up against them we were just fine.

+1...score doesn't show it, and the announcers said Texas utterly dominated ISU, but in reality if ISU can get their own act together, they had all the talent they needed to take Texas to the wire in this game. That's the frustrating part...yet good to see the talent increase from the last time Texas came in '07 or '08 when we lost by like 60.
