    Offensive GooseBumps

    From DSMReg.

When Bates told quarterback Bret Meyer he was matched up with a linebacker, the Cyclones scribbled a new play.

"We talked to coach Mack upstairs," Bates said, "and drew it up on the sideline."

McFarland makes schematic adjustments each week, but Bates says the coaches avoid overloading.
that kind of dynamic play calling and adjustments will win games that are close .... that is refreshing.

First the fans can't get over the guy leaving and going to South Florida, now the players are praying to him.

    Nice.

Anyways, really like hearing this stuff. Coaches trusting players to give them good info in order to make adjustments.

I enjoyed the article too. It shouldn't take a win for a story like this to come out of the fold however. If Andrew's not careful, he might just have a future in journalism!

    Re: Offensive GooseBumps

Iowa State, meanwhile, is scoring 14.8 points over its last 10 games, and has failed to eclipse the 15-point plateau this season.

The Cyclones (1-2) will also seek their first win outside Jack Trice Stadium since beating Texas A&M on Oct. 29, 2005.
And then, you read stuff like that and you come crashing down to earth...
