It starts out looking pretty bleak, but we do have some horses in the upper weights. Hopefully everybody can stay healthy this year. It's nice to see them pretty much admit that they think Sorenson is the best guy at 165, but that they want to see how he has recovered from his injury. I don't know what other justification there would be for ranking him behind Toal and Bailey, both of whom he beat last year, as some publications have done.

I do think he is the best guy there. I did pick him to win the Big 12. But I want to see him healthy

Glad to see the roster has Weatherman down to 149. I think he'll be way more solid there than he was at 157. Though given his scuffles with the law this spring hopefully he was committed to getting the weight down over the offseason and isn't sucking weight all year.

    Re: Big 12 preview

It been said that Weatherman is suspended for 10% of the season, so I imagine that Cozart starts the season.

Potential is the name of the game. It does end up saying he thinks we will have 5 in the finals and 3 champs (Spangler, Sorenson, and Gadsen). And finishing 2nd to Okie State. I am interested in Moreno, Finch, Beard/Ward, and Cozart/Weatherman.
Pretty much excited about 9 of the 10 weights.

    Re: Big 12 preview

i'm excited to see what Mayfield can do at 141. Anybody know if Goettl(sp?) will be his back-up.

133 is definitely looking like the weak link in this current line up. any word on Schlosser or Terukina(sp?)

That's fair. I hope he can get through his senior year healthy. I think he could make some serious noise and you won't find a nicer kid.

    Re: Big 12 preview

I believe Goettl (that is the right spelling) will be the backup or battle Mayfield for starting spot. Probably our 2nd weakest weight, but Max looked very good against Jamal Parks last year. Could be our biggest surprise.

Don't know what happen to the Schlosser talk; apparently can't beat the other 3. The year away might be costing him now. Maybe he need to concentrate on grades first.

    Re: Big 12 preview

Definitely excited for the season! All of the unknowns are both exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Will the Freshman class make a splash (I think they will)? How will Weatherman do down a weight? Who will go at 84 when the dust settles? How will our guys do coming off of injury? It's going to to be fun to see how everything plays out. Nice to see the program on the up and up. I have no doubt KJ will keep the trend going upwards.
