    Offense improvement

Last year it took us 4 games to score 6 TDs.
So far this year in 3 games we have 9. (in regulation)

Last year AA threw for 200+ yards 1 game (in regulation)
This year Steele has thrown for 200 + in 2 games already (in regulation)

The TD number is the most impressive improvement.

    Re: Offense improvement

So far i'm impressed, but they need to limit Turnovers. I really want to see this offense get cooking, because I think when it does get rolling....The offense can probably put up 40+ by itself.

    Re: Offense improvement

It is actually even slightly better than you're thinking. Through the first 3 games last year there were just 5 offensive touchdowns (one was the AJ Klein INT return against Kansas St).

If this ISU team could limit mistakes, they can be really good.

    Re: Offense improvement

We upgraded at QB, added some good WRs, some WRs actually improved in the off season (when is the last time that happened at ISU?), we have more depth than ever at RB and the OL continually plays at a decent (occasionally great) level.

Where are we at for interceptions?

Would be interesting to compare that to AA era...

Or the coaching change helped that much on the outside.

I actually think AA had thrown less picks at this point in the season. He threw 10 all of last year in 9.5 games. Steele has 6 in 3 games.

That said, Steele looks like a better fit for this system than AA, and we're 3-0. Steele's prone to some boneheaded throws, but he has the ability to make plays AA (and pretty much anyone we've had in my life outside of Seneca) couldn't.

That very well may be the reason for the improvement in receiver play. Frankly, I'm not that concerned about why they're improved (that's CPR's job), I'm just glad that they are.

Right, but 6 in the first FOUR games.

I was just curious how it compares. I dont think we would have won 1, if any of the games with out Jantz, even though he started digging the hole he had to get us out of. Since we were comparing touchdowns, I was curious to how interceptions varied.

Says a lot about out team, to make up for more interceptions, offense and defense. Texas will be hard/impossible to beat if we turn it over like we have though, I don't care who is at the helm, that's a lot of points I bet Texas puts up because of TO's.

Again, like I said in another thread, INT's come when you have a gunslinger at QB. Steele is a gunslinger. He will throw into coverage sometimes. He will go deep when the person isn't open. In his career Steele will probably throw alot of TD's, but alot of INT's too. Just like Brett Favre.

How many more times can you say gunslinger? I don't know why but i find that term very annoying.
He didn't throw many INT's in juco so I don't know if throwing 4 or 5 in a couple games means he is going to continue to throw a lot of picks. I would imagine he is trying to cut down on those INT's through film study and practice. He is just starting his career as a Division 1 QB he is going to make mistakes but I believe he will eventually cut down on those errors.
