    Louisville

The more I think about it, the more I believe Louisville is the best choice for the B12. They are the closest geographically (less TCU) and I like the fact they offer a FB program that has proven it can be competitive along with an excellent BBall tradition. I think Louisville is only like 350miles from Columbia.

Only caveat is the extended timeframe for departure from the BE. Academics are not as strong either but you don't have the issues you have with BYU and TCU just doesn't excite the majority of us unless they are bundled with a couple more.

    Re: Louisville

I still like the idea of going to 12 - pick up BYU, Airforce, and Louisville. They may need to telegraph the move a bit - add BYU this year, and make it public that the other two will join in a few years.

    Re: Louisville

like Louisville in the mix of XII.

That being said, I would LOVE a trip to Provo and watch an ISU game there...

    Re: Louisville

I saw a tweet somewhere that the Big 12 would add one team for next year and then add the two Big East teams, Louisville and WVU, for the 2013-14 season. And yes, Louisville makes an awful lot of sense, especially from a basketball perspective.

    My opinion is above

Add BYU immediately and wait for WVU and Louisville to give their 27 months notice or whatever it is.

    Re: Louisville

I would agree. Louisville is the top realistic choice for expansion.

If we got WVU and Lville to announce, there's a good chance that conference just falls apart, making the need for notice disappear.

Even if it stays together, everything is negotiable.

    BYU for 2012.

    Louisville and WV after that.

    Re: Louisville

The only issue is that the Provo to Morgantown trip is over 1900 miles

    Re: Louisville

with such a long window to get out of the BE, they almost need to announce sometime this football season so that they are in the B12 the next time the Tier 1 contracts are renewed (perfect for teams like ISU - fewer people to split the money with till it jumps up later)

So put them in the SW division so they rarely play. Or even if theyre in the same division, its one game a year. Once you're already jumping on a plane you're not talking huge differences in time to fly.

I don't think it would..Even if TCU didn't go to the BE, they would still have Rutgers, UConn, Cincy, and S. Fla. They could get back to 8 (where they've been the last few years) pretty easily with ECU, UCF, Houston, Navy, AFA, etc. They won't implode IMO.

I know that football drives these decisions, but try to remember there are a number of other sports we play in the Big 12

Yeah..I don't like that at all. I fear we go TCU and then WVA, Louisville.
