Re: Presidential Candidates for Iowa State

From what I read about Kumble's visit, it sounds like he is a very strong candidate.

I am sure Leath is also too.

they should have recruited tom hoenig, retiring president of KC Fed. He is likely to get the MU prez job. he has a grad and dr degree from isu and is an iowa native.

Couldn't agree with you more!! I submitted his name to the BOR, but never heard back from them!! Wonder why??? Tom has been the only voice of reason throughout this economic disaster of the past 3 years (and also before that), but he did not get a sniff from the BOR to my knowledge. If Mizzou gets him hired, good for them---it will definitely be to their advantage!

Re: Presidential Candidates for Iowa State

I vote for Kumble. I'm presuming that he is of Indian decent and that he would help us recruit lots of Indian foreign students to bolster ISU's Computer Science Department, help us foster the next Steve Jobs (who will likely be of Indian decent) who will leave billions to ISU in the future and that those Indian foreign students will dramatically increase the average GPA at ISU, thereby placing ISU in the top 5 nationwide for all campus GPA. However, we do need some entrepreneurs to invest in Indian restuarants and more "Patel Motels" in Ames!!

I'm sure he's a great guy, but Leath looks like Morrie from "Goodfellas".
