How many fans across the whole Big 12 would rather

keep Texas A&M and kick Texas out since it appears Texas will refuse to make changes to LHN.

Initially, I'm sure 95% would say #%#%$#$# yes, but thats not the question. The real question is at what loss in tv values would the teams be willing to do that to have stability and a guarantee from the top teams which in this situation would be OU, A&M & Missouri now.
    $5 million a year less?
    $7.5 million a year less?
    $10 million a year less?

Its probably all mute because A&M is probably gone, but if they really wanted to stick it to Texas that would be the way. To essentially neuter the LHN or force Texas out of the conference.

The bolded part of your statement is not accurate. UT said they would be willing to make programming and content changes to alleviate concerns of other Big 12 members. So far, LHN revenue seems to be off the table.

Also, nowhere that I've seen has OU asked for LHN revenue to be distributed to the Big 12 members. They have asked for regulation of LHN content and programming, which it appears UT is willing to look at.

Don't want Tammy 5 year old mentality. Let them go. If pitching UT gets long term stability, i would take a hit for that too.

I would guess 95% of BigXII fans would say "what the **** is the LHN?"

Texas provides more stability than A&M.

I think 95% of them might slap you upside the head for lumping them in as idiots.

Is Texas A&M closer to being on Texas' level than we are to being on Iowa's level? In terms of fan base, athletic budget, etc? I think OP has an interesting question.

Re: How many fans across the whole Big 12 would rather

I have no problem with the LHN and long as there is no high school related content. And if they help the rest of the Big 12 improve our third tier revenue. Also, I don't like that they can put more than one game on their network. It should be only one football game per year, no exceptions.

Re: How many fans across the whole Big 12 would rather

Does having Texas provide more stability? We have lost Nebraska, Colorado, probably Texas A&M? OU tried to go to the PAC(or even if you think it was just a negotiation play it still caused instability), Missouri wanted the Big 10 who knows if they want the SEC. That doesn't seem very stable.

It comes down to this. Is only regulating programming enough for OU & Missouri now and the future, if so fine(because none of the other schools really have another option). If Texas getting extra revenue is not SOMEWHERE down the line whether thats 2, or 5 years down the line its not more stable.

Re: How many fans across the whole Big 12 would rather

I think some are missing the point of the post. Its not about whether the LHN is ok to ISU fans, we really don't have a say. Is it ok to OU & Missouri at this point and the FUTURE. If they are alway ok with Texas keeping that money but only regulating the content and will STAY with that scenario then great! But the lower tier schools don't want the LHN to be negotiated where its ok for 3 or 5 years but have to go through this again after that.

ISU wants stability, and I wonder if the conference could be more STABLE & COMMITTED with A&M instead of Texas.

Because if this conference is stable it will be one of the major conferences because it is almost always better than the ACC and the PAC 12 is in the wester time zone.

I still maintain with STABILITY you might be surprised who the Big 12 could pluck off for teams from the ACC before the new network deal.

Tammy doesn't want equal sharing though. They wanted the 20 million guarantee. They wanted nu and cu buyouts to go to just a couple and not everyone. If you are going to take one, take UT. They will get you more money and do not pout about everything.
