Revenue sharing - ISU's slice to climb?

No doubt several fans here have a finger on conference revenue sharing figures. What was ISU's projected Big 12 income prior to the recent alignment blowup? If UT agrees to equal participation in league member revenue sharing, by how much will ISU's income increase? Got a dollar total estimate, guesstimate?

    Thanks.

Figures are based on the new Fox deal for T2.

I don't think that we can complain how ISU has spent money. They've done more with less than just about any program out there. In the past 5 years, ISU has put $35M into JTS with another $21M going to the FB program with the new FTF. They've gotten the basketball teams a needed practice facility. Hilton has undergone multiple (albeit minor) improvements...scoreboard, seats, Johnny Orr Club, VB offices. There's a new Track/Softball/Soccer facility underway that will help 8 sports if you count all track/cc programs. And, there's an academic facility that is just a few years old. Lots more to do, but I'd say they've spent wisely.

Now, they need to up some coaching salaries so that they aren't losing coaches. Other than that, Wrestling needs some help, Hilton could use some rennovations and then there's the SEZ.

Re: Revenue sharing - ISU's slice to climb?

I thought Texas, Oklahoma and A&M were suppose to get like 24 million per year and others would get like 17 million per year? Didn't they say that last year?

If those numbers are correct, and assuming we add another team to get back to 10 and that our TV revenue stays the same, then we would get about 19 million per year with equal revenue.

    I'm probably wrong.

A few years ago isu got 8.9, under equal rev sharing it would have been 10.1.

This is just TV revenue for T1 and T2. There might be more $$ based on bowl appearances and such. They maybe projecting what they would make when T1 goes up for negotiation which based on what the P-12 got I would guess conservatively around 125 million which you can see on the spread sheet by just entering in 125 in the "Tier 1" revenue on top.

I'm not getting excited until the money is in our hands. This thing changes every day.

The additional money would be great, but what I want first is a conference that is stable for a few years. There has been more back and forth in this than two Scotsmen negotiating the sell a used car.

Any benefits we see would likely be offset by adding additional members.

That isn't necessarily true. Right now the Big XII is being paid in basic terms on the number of conference games being played. Expansion could potentially lead to the renegotiation of the current tier 1 deal and the recently signed tier 2 deal and the dollar figures would go up one would think. Maybe the Big XII's only focus is to snag BYU to get back to 10 teams and just call it good while locking everybody in with new exit fees in excess of 20 million? Maybe they want to get to 12 teams and the contracts get renegotiated? Who knows.
