    Can we evict Texas?

Unfortunately all of Oklahoma's leverage is gone. It it even possible that the other 8 schools could threaten to disband the conference and reform without Texas involved?

Why is their leverage gone? Isnt there 9 conference members but only 1 of them is Texas? The majority is everyone but Texas.

Sounds like a great plan to devalue our conference....let's do it

NU was against sharing. They are gone. aTm was against sharing, they are gone. OU was against sharing, they have changed their tune.

It is 8-1 against UT on this issue, and with the PAC announcement that UT doesn't have a home there, they don't have an exit strategy. We have as much leverage on this issue as ever before.

    Re: Can we evict Texas?

This is stupid. We need to appeal to the decency of UT. You don't strong arm the giant. More than half the population of the Big 12 is in that state. What is wrong with ISU fans? Are we really this crazy?

Because they know damn well that ISU, KSU, KU, BU, TTU, and now OU and OSU don't have any other options. Oklahoma having the option to go west but willing to stay with reform was a better situation that this IMO. If Texas concedes to these demands, great, but history tells us they won't.

All I'm saying is that given the choice of having to play with Texas and do this every year due to their selfishness, or reforming without them and adding other schools, I would choose the latter. The PAC-12 didn't expand, great, but we are in the same situation we were 3 months ago, nothing has gotten better, it just hasn't gotten worse.

Post number 5? Are you a hawk fan? If so, what do you gain by starting this topic? ISU appears to be in a BCS league for the next few years, so stop crying about it and deal.

Are you referring to the state of Texas or the school?

Incidentally, I would support either or both options.

    Re: Can we evict Texas?

I don't why we'd want to do that. Unless you think it's worth
giving up all exit fees etc etc.

Wouldn't it make more sense to simply

    A. all other schools in the conference band together,
get a commissioner that was willing to call their bluff?
    B. vote to change the bylaws to a complete revenue sharing
    model?

of course they might leave, but then that's what you seem to
want anyways. By voting to change the rules instead of voting
them out, at least you'd have a hypothetical chance of enforcing
    exit penalties.

I always figured unequal 3rd tier distribution was fair, but if it
keeps the conference as a whole from being able to have it's
own network then that's a different question altogether.

Bottom line, is the rest of the conference of a mind that top to
bottom equal revenue sharing is worth the risk of going forward
without Texas? If so, Okey has all the leverage they need, if they
    aren't, well....oh well.

BUT, but, but ... Dr. Tom says ...

Osborne said at a booster luncheon Thursday that the Big Ten probably would still be around in 100 years because of the stability that results from the way finances are handled. Without mentioning Nebraska and Colorado's exits from the Big 12 or the imminent departure of Texas A&M, Osborne said the Big 12's revenue-sharing plan lends itself to instability.

"When there are inequities, eventually something is going to give somewhere," Osborne said. "It doesn't mean it will happen, but it makes it more difficult."
Nebraska's Tom Osborne says Big Ten is the place to be for revenue sharing and stability | The Republic

Surely Tom Osborne wouldn't do one thing, and then say another? Would he? I mean, God doesn't lie to his followers, right?
