ESPN reporting ISU, Baylor and Kansas were problem makers for Aggies

    FWIW

Answering questions about the ever-changing college sports landscape - ESPN

"Iowa State, Baylor and Kansas were balking at the SEC's request to waive the right to sue, but the decision by the Pac-12 to stay put may expedite the Aggies' departure and encourage those other schools to breathe easier and waive their rights to sue. "

Why should we waive our rights ? A&M created a difficult situation for us.

In moving to the SEC, A&M was looking out for themselves.

Iowa State and the others have all the right in the world to do the same.

I have more respect for ISU because of it. I am glad ESPN is reporting it. Iowa State seems to have grown some SLLAB to deal with situations like this. Kudos to JP and our athletic department.

Re: ESPN reporting ISU, Baylor and Kansas were problem makers for Aggies

Yeah, I don't see the problem here. "We have a contract, you are breaking that contract and want me to waive my rights to sue you? **** YOU!"

The funniest thing is, we didn't sue anyone or even threaten to do it. We merely were reserving our right to sue if we saw fit. Which makes me believe that there is something to it if we decided to sue. IF there wasn't, there would have been no stipulation by the SEC for aTm.

[b]EDIT: I would like to add. I still don't think we should waive that right. Even if the XII stays together. I'm not saying we should sue, just not give up the right. Who knows what will go down next year and if we waive that right this year, it hurts our chances later to sue the next team that leaves.

There is going to be a lot of "bad blood" in the conference. Can these schools get along over the long haul?

    Correct.

The A&M whining is old. Don't go away mad, Aggie. Just, go away...

It's OK if they go away angry. All that really matters is the going away.

I think we should waive our right to sue only if it benefits us... i.e. Aggies will pay full exit fee with no litigation

Ideally that would happen without waiving our right but this isn't an ideal situation

How high on the "weird" scale would the Big 12 be if we had both A&M and BYU?
