Those announcers werent 'B' squad, the were F

3rd n 10 and Lenz makes one of the best catches ever. 'and the catch ....incomplete...no, i guess he caught it'. That was the most robotic, monotone announcer ever.

I can 100% attribute ISU's uptick in play after going down 10-0 to muting the espn announcers and listening to Walter's game call.

The only (and I mean only) thing I can give the announcing team props for is how they repeatedly, and almost casually, referred to our offense as "The Men of Steele." Generally, that's the way to get a nickname to stick. Unfortunately, most listeners had already filled their ears with hot glue trying to avoid the rest of their putrid commentary.

They kept saying Steele was heating up a bit when he actually wasn't at all. They were comically inept.

For almost the entire second half the moment was "starting" to shift our way.

Did anyone else think that the play-by-play guy was trying to sound like Kevin Nealon (old SNL cast member.)

Re: Those announcers werent 'B' squad, the were F

I actually thought the color guy was okay (Jon Cegmani or something like that?). He wasn't great by any means, but he was much better than Gleason on the play-by-play.

One of the more stupefyingly dumb things they said that sticks out in my mind was when they brought up Pasqualoni (?) being a coach at Syracuse for so long, in the pros, etc., and "how he is trying to turn this program around." Umm....UCONN was in a BCS bowl last season. Granted, they were hardly a BCS bowl-caliber team, but they did make it. Why would the new coach need to "turn them around"?

For the most part it was amateur night out of Gleason.

Anyone else notice one of them really trying to push a catch phrase? He kept referring to momentum as "Big Mo"? I've never heard that before (God willing never will again), but the announcer must have said it 4 or 5 times.
