Bob Fescoe out of KC 610

For any of you interested about Chris' tweets regarding Fescoe's tweets under the realignment blog.

I listened to his podcast. He said we may very well know by tomorrow if Beebe was successful with Oklahoma. Also, BYU was ready to join last week until all the chaos and still will if OU is satisfied and the conferrence stays together. The mega death penalty buyout of 70 million is the key to keeping the conference stable from forward.

I still think if this conference can solidify the team to go after is Florida St. The payout is much, much higher than the ACC, its questionable whether they can get into the SEC with Florida blocking them, and they just setup a realignment committee.

He also said the PAC-12 is not thrilled with Boone Pickens for some reason, which could cool their interest on Oklahoma St.

FSU is not going anywhere. They had their opportunity to go SEC in '92 and chose the ACC. They are happy with their path to the NC.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.

There are two characters in your statement that shows it makes no sense and that is 92. The landscape has changed dramatically and I don't think a decision made in 1992 have any bearing on what a school is doing today just as much as a match up between two teams in 1992 has any bearing on a game today.

Re: Bob Fescoe out of KC 610

To compare the circumstances in 1992 for the FSU program & college football to today is ridiculous.

FSU makes about 12 million a year in the ACC, and that was renegotiated just a year or two ago . You can't tell me if in the Big 12 a 20-25 million payday once the tier 1 rights are renegotiated wouldn't make them think about it(thats what was discussed for OU, UT, A&M before.

You also can't tell me the Big 12 wouldn't be worth more. I don't care if Flordia is more popular than FSU, they still bring a lot of viewers in a big state.

Not to mention the positive effect inviting FSU could have on recruiting.

Look I get all of your points, however I just don't see FSU moving. I'll eat crow if I have to but I don't see it.

I have never said FSU would come for sure but I think it should be their first choice and make a strong run at them. yes, they could say no, but I think with a solid league they can make a very solid case why its in FSU's best interest. Just at least make he attempt.

No kidding. You think the Texas schools hate playing up in the North in November.... Imagine what FSU would think of it?

Re: Bob Fescoe out of KC 610

I would be all over FSU if that is an option. They could even rival ND in my mind for top pick. They deliver a lot of things that we need from a new school.

    1. Name - They are a big name program that can replace some of the prestige of nebby and aTm. This will also be a boost to tier 1 tv negotiations.

    2. Markets - Access to several large media markets in Florida. Florida is also a growing state, so this only helps us in the long term. Also, once again, good news for tv contracts.

    3. Recruiting - Florida is probably the second best recruiting location behind Texas. Having a conference presence there could be very solid for recruiting across the league.

I really don't see this happening, and I'm not sure what would be in it for FSU, but if we actually have a shot at FSU, I think you bend over backwards to get that deal done.

Add BYU, ND, FSU. Keep OK and OSU. We are golden again. Too bad BYU is about the only one who will come, and thats only if Oklahoma stays.

Focus needs to be on keeping the Big 12 together and then get FSU in so we can get them back for that blown call in KC!!
