I asked this question yesterday in the other thread. Wish I had better news, but I don't think wear are focusing on him. Probably not in his Top 5.

    Re: BB Recruiting: Blaise Mbargorba

If ESPN is the only one showing this, I am suspicious. They kept Anthony Bennett on our list long after he eliminated us, as well as players like Phillip Nolan and Cinmeon Bowers, who we are not actively recruiting. I suspect it is SDW, NWC, and Cleanthony Early for the last spot. Those are the people who you hear about, and are planning to visit.

So is the decision of NWC holding up Dorsey-Walker?

don't think we are recruiting him.

NWC is visiting Missouri this weekend, he now says he will sign in November, previously he was saying spring.

SDW is still coming in for official sometime in October, can't remember if it is same weekend as Niang & Okoro (10-22)

No. I'm guessing we'd take the first to commit.

Do you think we get any more commits till the conference talk is finished?

I'm pretty sure Early is out of the picture for Iowa State. Don't think we made his final cut.

That's got to be a big concern to any potential recruits. Really hurting us in all sports right now. Needs to get settled soon.

I bet its not as big of a deal for basketball as it is for football.

Agreed. If we are in a re-formed B12, or Big East/B12 combo, the level of competition will be as good or better.

Lose OU, Okie State, UT, A&M and add in Louisville, Cinci, Houston, Memphis and you probably have a better b-ball conference.

Yesterday my dad was like "Wouldn't it be sweet to see UCONN and Cuse at Hilton every year?". It really would.

Since the conference would have 50 bball teams it would be about once every 5 years. Still cool though.

    Re: BB Recruiting: Blaise Mbargorba

I have not seen anything regarding Blaise Mbargorba or Cleanthony Early narrowing their lists down, however I also don't think Iowa State has really pushed their recruitment on them as of late. Both of them appear at this point to be a big stretch to get them to Iowa State, especially Blaise as his recruitment has really picked up over the last month with several new schools becoming interested in him.

Our last scholly for 2012 will likely go to either Dorsey-Walker or Webster-Chan based upon what is going on now as far as visits, etc... Perhaps Ray Lee still in an outside shot but there hasn't been much news on him either.
