UCONN Football Stadium - Rentschler Stadium

Cool stadium. Amazing it only holds 40,000. Press box is cool.

That stadium is WAY better than Jack Trice IMO. It's bowled in all the way around, and their pressbox is a lot better than ours.

The downside to their stadium though is that it only holds 40,000 and it would be tough to expand it much beyond that. Jack Trice could eventually seat about 60,000 if you bowled in the south endzone with two levels.

It sits on a former air strip. Interesting.

looks to me like it's basically bowled in with bleechers and the lower level isn't very deep.

Every time I see stadiums like that, I just get upset about how JTS was put together.

Did you even see their scoreboard? That thing ain't got nothin' on CyMax.

I'd be embarrassed if I was UCONN.

That Stadium opened in 2003 about 30 years after Jack Trice. Not to mention the state of Connecticut paid for it. Not exactly comparing the same thing

For what it's worth. I wonder if the Jack gets as good a score if the review was in November with the wind whipping through the concourses.

And it looks to be an amazing tailgate setup. Satellite pictures were taken during a game sometime. They have a ton of space between car rows, so plenty of room for games and setups.

I don't really understand the hard-on everyone has for bowled in end zones. Upper deck sideline tickets are way better than lower level end zone tickets IMO

    This.

Texas A&M has the stadium I would choose to model. Bowled in looks nice, but end zone seats suck.

Some people enjoy endzone seating because you can see the play develop better. I don't, but some people do.
