I don't terribly mind the idea of being in a conference with Louisville, UCF, USF, Tulane, Houston, SMU, Rice, Cincinnati, E. Carolina, Memphis, and Baylor.

Apply this quote to life... and repeat.
"Never wait. I don’t care what you’re doing in life, whether it’s going to Homecoming or finding a job, don’t sit around waiting for the phone to ring."

Re: Sports business experts chime in on Iowa State's future

Kristi's comments seem to be an echo and summation of all the terrible rumors that have been thrown out just to be out there. I couldn't take her seriously after her lack of knowledge on the subject matter that peered through on her answer to the first question (did she miss the part about Iowa State being in a major conference for over a century?). ...Lawyers...

Chadd at least showed that he was willing to concede on issues that NO ONE knows, while still being able to state his opinions.

Not saying I know anything more than they do, but I can at least tell when someone is answering a question honestly, and subjectively if it is opinion based.

Can someone please tell me why people think KU has a shot to get into the B1G? They keep saying football and media markets drive this realignment...well, KC is the 31st largest media market however, their football sucks and KC is already split 3 ways (between KU, KSU, and MU). They already jumped MU for Nebraska supposedly to get the KC market. I don't see what good it would do to take Kansas now over MU.

Good article Chris. I believe strongly that the XII will stay together by the way all the school reps are talking or lack there of. I would really hate not being able to play our Big 8 brethren anymore.... Was really bummed to lose Nebraska and Colorado.

Agreed. She missed the mark here. Not because I disagree with her, but because she simply regurgitated what the media has been spouting. And the media is not in the know.

Kristi Dosh? Really? She has you sold Chris? I've read her stuff before and have always thought she talks a lot and know very little and when she is challenged on something her answer is often something along the lines of "well, I'm a lawyer."
I'll give her another try but definitely not sold on her yet.

Not sold on her either, but do agree with her comments on not sitting idle.
I say ISU approach the Big 10 stating how we fit scholastically, geographically, financially (as a University, not TV market-based), & athletically. Heck, we could compete for football championship in that conference immediately.

It was kind of a "duh" comment, to be honest. Just because the media doesn't know what we are going to do, or that we haven't been rumored, doesn't mean that we are sitting idle. Maybe in her mind though...because she gets all her information from the media rumors and tweets it out like it is her own thought or her own sources.

Re: Sports business experts chime in on Iowa State's future

I haven't seen anyone seriously suggest Kansas to the Big 10, I think that takes away a lot of Kristy's credibility. If the Big 10 didn't think Nebraska is enough for the KC market why not take Missouri it has KC & St. Louis. She doesn't have a clue.

This. Kansas has about the same chance of going to the Big 10 as ISU does to the PAC 12.

Re: Sports business experts chime in on Iowa State's future

Interesting article. But I wish you would have asked about what it would take to keep the B12 together, or why it makes economic sense for UT or OU to go to equal share conferences -- with more shares to pay out -- and a more difficult path to a BCS game.

Personally I think the B12 stays together ... benefits outweigh problems.

In JP and GG I trust. This whole thing is the biggest thing to happen to ISU athletics and ISU in general since 1858.
