no kidding. No TV for a season is a big penalty both to the school and to the networks that carry Big 10 games. That's a big hit.
You know, one thing that might come out of this is that TV networks might start to work in punishment clauses into the contracts they sign with conferences from now on, allowing them to withhold money if a school gets banned from TV appearances. That might add additional incentive not to cheat.
"What a horrible night to have a curse."
"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
That no TV thing is quite the blow
Basically eliminates the chance of playing any decent non conference teams and pisses off the rest of the Big 10 on top of that
not to ention the financial ramifications involved
Finally the NCAA is going to hand out a real penalty on an elite program. It is about time they did. Now, how about doing this and taking away 6 scholarships to Auburn? USC ended up getting a slap on the wrist. This is more in line with what should happen to schools that have a culture of cheating.
