    Direct quote from Paul Rhoads

"It's time to roll up our sleeves, put on our hard hats and go to work together. We will be smart. We'll be physical for 60 minutes and we will hit you coming off the bus. We will be a passionate football team that will bring pride back to the Cyclone nation."

Nothing has magically changed for the worse. The team played poorly and still won. The team played poorly against UNI last year, and still won.
Do we not all have bad days at work on occasion?

Paul is 13-13 as head football coach at Iowa State.
I'm not saying its great, but I aint saying it's bad.

But I will say that on December 21st of 2008, you know damn well that Cyclone Nation would have taken a guaranteed .500 record through 26 games and a bowl win. We ALL would have taken that in a heartbeat.

Cyclone Nation also would have gladly accepted
-Going 3-1 vs the state of Texas so far
-Being one of the most advantageous teams in the nation forcing turnovers the last 2 season.
-Wins at Nebraska, at Texas, and a shootout over Texas Tech
-Having the QB go 18-40 with 3 picks and still winning the damn game with what may prove to be one of the most memorable plays in Cyclone History!

Iowa state can bounce back from this win!
Paul Rhoads will not allow them to stay down with all the suffering the win caused!

Get excited! Saturday against Iowa is a chance to rectify all the wrongs in that win!

The thing in bold is a huge one for me. We were getting dominated for the whole game on offense, yet somehow this team dug down deep, sucked it up and and won the game. That says a lot about the team we put on the field on Saturdays.

I'd rather he was practicing routes, getting seperation and catching the ball. He needs to get better at those things, not running stairs.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

Kid needs to first learn how to keep his pie hole shut during games (thus him running stairs until he can't even crawl up them anymore). Once he's learned not to yap at the opponent every time they say something even slightly offensive to him, then we can progress to practicing routes, getting separation, and most importantly catching the ball.

I hope he's resting his toe and getting treatment, not aggravating it by running stairs. Maybe somebody can invent a panty-unbuncher.

That sounds smart. Let's continue to wear out and further injure arguably our best WR on the team before one of the biggest games of the year!

No one suggested having Josh Lenz run the stairs.

As for 13-13, nobody really saw that start coming! After 5-19, 13-13 is a nice jump forward.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Have you ever played football before, or are you just one of those sideline junkies that think they know everything about the sport?

What I suggest is not that far out of the norm. Players and entire teams are made to run hills/stairs as a form of discipline all the time. In HS someone decided to smoke on the bus on the way home from a road trip. Since the person refused to fess up, and no one on the team decided to turn him in (we all knew who it was) the entire team was made to spend an entire practice running hills, somersault at the top and bottom. And it was the worst possible day ever to run hills - damp, cold, foggy day.
