CU wants out of PAC-12 (j/k)

But wouldn't it be funny to see them end up in a division of teams they in such a rush to get away from?

Colorado, Utah and the Arizona schools want to play in Cali as much as possible. Expanding will only keep them out. I can't imagine they would be too happy about it...

Lots of kids to recruit in California. This is a big deal.

Can we trade Colorado for Tam? Send Tam to the West with their mason jars? We would have Colorado eyeballs and we do not need Tam eyeballs.

Doesn't Pac require unanimous member approval to expand? If so, Colorado could shut down OU & Co. single-handedly.

Hey, Colorado is trying to he'p us. They do not want to associate with UT/OU. They spent good money to get out of Dodge.

Is it not time for the WH to get involved?

    Yay, more misinformation...

Colorado was NEVER trying to get AWAY from Texas or Oklahoma, they were trying to get into the Pac 10 AHEAD of them. Colorado has, for as long as I can remember, ALWAYS wanted into the Pac 10. The rumor last year was Texas was going to take the entire South with them to form the Pac 16, meaning CU's biggest dream could never come true. Colorado didn't run away from Texas, they ran ahead of them to make sure Texas didn't give Baylor the seat at the table that Colorado has always wanted.

On the herd right now, he's talking about how this would be a deathblow to UCLA.

Why UCLA? And who is talking, the Colorado president?

UCLA is a little down right now. They're typically stingy with money since they have to have everything approved. They're losing the facilities race. Add in a couple more quality programs, the hill gets too steep to climb.

Wow, the CU President was very open and honest in that article. He definitely doesn't think too highly of Texas' ego or Tech/OSU academics. He better hope they don't end up there or that conference is going to start off with damaged relationships just like the Big 12.

So does Colorado have full voting rights in the Pac 12 yet? And do you still need unanimous consent among universities for expansion, which was the case last year?

This is a really good point. I live in Phoenix and I can guarantee you there is no way ASU and U of A want to end up in a PAC16 where they are in an 8 team division separate from the California schools. They recruit Cali hard & there is no way they want to end up in a situation where they would be lucky to get a conference game in CA every other year. I'm sure Colorado & Utah feel the same way. This is the thing that just doesn't make sense about superconferences. What's the point of having a conference that's so big that you only play teams from the other division once every 4 to 8 years? I understand this is all about TV money & increasing media footprints, but at some point common sense has to kick in, right? That's probably way too optimistic though.

Last time UCLA played in the Rose Bowl....1999. But the Cali women are mighty fine.
