end of the game ball spotting...

...worst I have ever seen in my life. Watching the replay and WTF????!!!!????!!!!

The original pass play was about 6 inches from being a TD. So somehow 4-5 feet of pure bull$hit was fabricated from thin air.

The first down play is well over a 1 yard gain, which would have scored easily if the original spot wasn't absolutely horrendous.

Second down was a touchdown by 6-12 inches. So second play in a row that should have been a TD.

If I ever hear "every play is reviewed" again I'll probably throw up on the spot. Go to NFL replay rules, ISU punches it in easily with logical replay rules.

Definitely ****** at best, but can't do anything about it now. If the spotting had prevented us from getting that final TD then I would've been truly ******.

I wouldn't complain...that ran another minute off the clock.

From my view in section M (upper deck, about 5 yard line), I thought Horne was down between the 1 and 2, right about where they spotted the ball.

Jantz definitely did not make it in on the first try.

On the second try, he may have sat down before extending into the end zone, but it was hard to see.

In the end, by the refs screwing us over, it actually screwed UNI over. We should have scored with about 1:30 left but instead they let us chew more clock up before we got the TD leaving UNI with only 28 seconds.

Right, it surely helped us out.

However, what if you get a false start or something.... then it would have been a mess. Score when you get the chance, could have came back to get us.

Re: end of the game ball spotting...

The spots all day were kind of strange to me. But I think that may be the way ref's always do it-- in a traditional broadcast or live game your attention wanders after dead ball. Sat night, the broadcast had no production, cutaways or anything so we were all focused on the spot after the tackle.

Or maybe we were getting jobbed, who knows.

The ball spotting was shady all game long.

Ball was placed on the 3 yard line. We are on the South Goal line. We scored. We had a perfect view. Replay seemed to back up our view.

The ball was placed just inside the 2, I think it should have been closer to the 1 but it was a pretty fast play so hard to tell.

The one I really think they messed up on was Jantz' second attempt. When they spotted the ball after that play the nose of the ball had to have been about an inch from breaking the plane, no way it's that close and not in, the odds of it being legitimately an inch away would be so slim I can't believe it to be true.

Looking at the Replay it appears you are right. My bad. Bad spots on all those plays.

Just watched the replay, I thought Horne got Horsecollared too. If the defender doesn't pull him down from behind with his hands clearly inside the back of Horne's pads, I bet he puts it in on the long pass.

    Inconsequential, I know. W is a W.

    Let's go State!
