Why didn't Steele Jantz's run on second down for a touchdown get reviewed?

It seemed so obvious that he was in, and they never reviewed it. Why?

I could not believe they marked him short on this play.

Re: Why didn't Steele Jantz's run on second down for a touchdown get reviewed?

After one replay on the video board everyone saw it was in and began booing, we called a TO(probably to force a review from the booth), but they ignored. In retrospect I'm happy because it burned precious clock, and we were moving the ball well at that point and scored regardless, but yeah the replay booth reallllly dropped the ball on that one.

Re: Why didn't Steele Jantz's run on second down for a touchdown get reviewed?

And yet his TD sneak in first half was called for review literally 3 seconds after. I mean what is the point of even making an original call if that is what it's going to come to.

Also was shocked that Hornes catch that was marked at the 1 was not reviewed. With how much they were relying on review in the first 3 quarters, it was odd that neither of those plays were reviewed.

Was that the one in the south endzone??? I was right they were in on 3 of those downs I have no idea what the refs were lookin at. It seemed like you had to be standing at the back of the end zone and show the refs the ball to get a touchdown!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it was the replay official from this game.

Really disappointed in the officiating last night. Hope we have better refs for the iowa game

Re: Why didn't Steele Jantz's run on second down for a touchdown get reviewed?

It was not ruled a TD. Therefore, it has to be challenged. CPR didn't challenge probably because he felt confident we could get it in so running the clock was more important. The earlier one was ruled a TD. Every play is reviewable but TD's are automatic booth review. That's why it got reviewed without a challenge having to be used.

Re: Why didn't Steele Jantz's run on second down for a touchdown get reviewed?

I sit on the SE side and had a good view of it all. Horn got a bad spot. Ball was inside the 1 when he hit ground and they spotted it at the 2. Jantz's 2nd down run, he fell down in the end zone. Easy call for the official, but he spotted him on the 1 inch line instead. That same official had just finished chewing out some photographer (presumably for being too close to the field), so maybe he was ****** and taking it out on ISU. The UNI fans in front of us were just as shocked as us that he didn't rule it a touchdown.

I thought the officiating was fine for game 1. The players have to stop holding, jumping off-sides, false starts, and creating personal fouls. If they will do that, the officials can simply spot the ball and start the play clock.

I thought they were calling the game alright penalty wise, but review wise and spotting the ball was absolutely horrible.

I believe that Horne was short, Jantz on the other hand was in without a doubt. They both should have been reviewed though.

I think that official was just moving the chain crew back since they were inside the ten unless. But yeah, he was kind of making a big deal out of it.
