    Farley after the game?

Anybody know what Farley had to say about last nights game? Did he say that they lost it again and not that ISU won it?

    Re: Farley after the game?

He wasn't that bad. Said they felt they could win and his team played hard. Said it was a building block for the season and the team feels similar disappointment as they felt after the Iowa game 2yrs ago.
Said maybe they should not focus so much on the instate games moving forward.

Mark Farley and Danica Patrick are a lot alike, lots of excuses.

    Re: Farley after the game?

Farley wasn't as dumb as usual, but he did have some gems. Talking about putting too much focus on in-state games was one of the comments. The other one was:

"We should of beat Iowa State."

    Aww, but you didn't.

He does not do bad while recruiting basically northern Iowa. UNI came to play.

    Re: Farley after the game?

In one sense, you gotta like his attitude that they aren't afraid of anyone and that they don't just show up for the paycheck and aren't intimidated by anyone either. They truly come in here everytime fully believing they are the better team and that they are going to win the game. They aren't in awe of ISU or Iowa. You would want that out of your head coach IMO.

With that being said, sometimes he really comes off as arrogant and disrespectful too IMO. Most coaches during the week leading up to a game are out there saying how good their opponent is and how much they respect them, etc. Farley will come out and say things like "we aren't afraid of ISU".... "we fully expect to win"... "we've beat them before and we can do it again"... etc.

And then after the game is over and they lose, he still says things like.... "we beat ourselves"... "I thought we played better overall than they did".... etc.

I guess I'd respect Farley a bit more if he just gave ISU a little bit of credit once in a while. Not that we need to hear that, but it would make him look like less of a sore loser IMO. Just admit that you got beat for once. When you lose 27-0, even though there's some truth to it, it's hard to say we beat ourselves. Just take it like a grown up and man up.

Well, let's be fair and consistent here; I read a lot of comments after the Kansas State games the last two seasons saying pretty much the exact same thing.

Not really. It's not Farley's fault that he gets his guys to draw personal foul penalties. That's squarely on our guys for letting them get in their heads. Shut up and play the game. Own them while they're running their mouths and that will shut them up.

I don't really have too much problem with the premise of the comment, it's just not something you usually see a head coach say.

UNI had their fair share of personal fouls. They even managed a combined 35 yard penalty in the first half.

    Re: Farley after the game?

I had no problem with what Farley said, mainly because he was correct in what he said. He said UNI should've won the game but ISU made great plays and for the most part that is correct. Other than a few great plays we got our ***** kicked.
