    Gleuk beer?

Can anyone tell me about this beer? At Cub, cases sell for under $10. Is this Mil's Best quality, or slightly higher? I tried the Pilsner and Wheat beers from the Point brewery (< $5 for a six pack of bottles), and I can't recommend either.

Always looking for a quality beer at a good price.

    Re: Gleuk beer?

Some random dudes came by my tailgate last week and we played flip cup and they let me try their Gleuk - I thought it was something fancy because the can was pretty cool. I would describe it as horse **** in a pretty package. One of the most god awful beers I've ever tasted, and that's saying something.

Go for it!! We still say if the price is right, so is the beer. As long as you don't have anything planned for the next day and lots of reading material in your bathroom!!!

    Re: Gleuk beer?

Told the wife to get some cans for the Kent State Game. She got Gleuk's Honey Bock. It was decent. Not hoppy, but well bodied, as you might expect a Bock beer. I'll do it again. If you like to drink light beer, don't try it.

Worse than Bud Light or Keystone? That is saying something.

I had the Gluek golden light, and yes, it was worse than Bud Light and Keystone. It was worse than Beast or Natty. It's awful.

Is it like "Brewskey" (anyone else remember that from about 10 years ago?)

    Re: Gleuk beer?

I thought the Honey Bock was pretty good. We bought this stuff up in MN for about $7/case.

Murph has a post about it on the RVTV blog that someone brought some of this by their RV and he said it tasted terrible.

    Re: Gleuk beer?

For those of you who may not make it to downtown Minneapolis much, Glueks' is a fantastic downtown bar which on most nights has great live music and lousy homemade beer. I don't drink their stuff anymore if I'm ever in there, just order Newcastle or Guinness. They should stick to serving other stuff.

A little history for you.....it's a really old recipe, and judging by your comments probably a little darker than most of your tastes. It's bad, but not awful and they mostly brew/sell out of tradition.

I like Dark beer, Bocks, etc. I don't like crap in a can however.

    Re: Gleuk beer?

I bought this stuff for the Kent State game. A case for $8.99 at Harlan's in Story City. Worst beer I've had since Hy-Vee's Royal (Generic) Beer. It tastes like the can.

    Re: Gleuk beer?

Keystone is the best beer to play beer pong with. It's like playing with water. Unfortunately, last week we played with High Life (not even Lite)...that was a minor mistake.

This thread was much needed on a Friday...I've had a couple of good chuckles reading it.
