    Stat Predictions

I went through position by position and wrote down my guess for how each offensive player will perform statistically:
    QB-
    Jantz: 185-310, 1800 yards, 14 td's, 15 INT's
    RB-
    Johnson: 150 At., 700 yards, 6 td, 4.67 ypc
    Woody: 75 At., 300 yards, 5 td, 4.0 ypc
    Jantz: 100 At., 300 yards, 5 td, 3 ypc
    WR/TE-
    Darks: 50 REC, 600 yards, 4 td
    Reynolds: 35 REC, 455 yards, 2 td
    Lenz: 30 REC 450 yards, 3 td
    Horne: 30 REC, 330 yards, 2 td
    Hammerschmidt: 20 REC, 200 yards, 3 td
    Johnson: 15 REC, 105 yards, 1 td

Who is going to throw for the extra 340 yards you are predicting? If Jantz only passes for 1800 yards we are going to be awful this year

    Re: Stat Predictions

Our offense will suck if that is all there is. We need 2500-3000 passing yards, 1600-2000 yards rushing to even compete over 12 games.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.
Let my Fred's Four Horsemen ride: Georges, Hogue, Nader, and McKay.

I didn't say my guesses matched up perfectly. Barnett will take a few snaps this year but not enough to make up for 340 yards. Last year we only passed for about 2000 yards between Tiller and Arnaud and I think that will decrease slightly this year.

Those were just approximations and didn't mean for everything to match up perfectly. Thanks for catching that though.

Really? Ouch. I'm calling it now, but if we pass for under 2,000 yards we won't win more than 2 games all year.

If we do not exceed 2000 yards passing, we are screwed like last year. We will be kicking/shanking a lot of fieldgoals. This is not intramurals. This is the Big 12.

My prediction is 3 wins so I'm being kind of a pessimist. I like to be proven wrong at the end of the year. With all the options we have at RB (compared to the lack of options at WR) I think we will run the ball pretty well and often.

    1800/12= 150 yards per game.

    0-12

    Re: Stat Predictions

You need an offense 350-400 ypg times 12 = 4200-4800 yards. use 4500 yards as the total and that dictates 2800 yards passing and 1700 yards rushing for success.

3100 yards season offensive total is less than the 2003 team and we all know how that season went. Our punter will be pulling double duty.

Arnaud threw for 150 ypg last year. How'd we do?

I don't care how good the RB's are, if you can't pass the ball in the Big 12, you can't run the ball. Teams will stack the box and we will go 3 and out often

I didn't include all the other part time performers (White, Bundrage, West, etc) so the total would go up a little bit.
