    Angry FYI: Parking Prices

Just saw that they jacked up the prices for GA parking for anyone with a Bus or RV: Gameday Central: Player Interviews vs. Northern Iowa - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

Football parking for cars is $20/vehicle, RVs are $50, and motorcycles are $5.
Seriously, a $20 hike for RV and Buses from last year? It's already bad enough to own them these days with gas being around $3.50 a gallon right now. And the worst part is some of the parking nazis in the grass lots like to squeeze all the buses and RVs in next to each other tight enough that you aren't getting a fair ammount of space when you are now paying over twice what a car has to. We have just a 24 foot motorhome which really doesn't take up too much more space than a van or large truck does.

BTW, if anyone has an RV pass for the lots north of JT for any games this season send me a PM along with what you want for it, may very well be interested in striking a deal with someone if they can't use it for a game.

I am pretty sure RV parking was 40 last year - but the increase still sucks.

Lots of free places to park around Ames too. Just gotta get there early. Park at Brookside park or the little park over by HyVee.

5 people per RV... thats 10 bucks a person for a day of tailgating .... totally worth every penny.

Im just thankful we have things as cheap as we do at ISU (ticket prices , minimum donation levels, parking etc.)

Yup. Things are pretty cheap here when you look around at other schools.

And... an rv\bus takes up at least 2x the space a car does, so it makes sense that itd cost at least 2x as much.

This. And I'd say that 2x is pretty conservative given some of the rigs I see in the GA lot on game day. More power to you guys though!

    Re: FYI: Parking Prices

It's been $20 for cars and vans for awhile.

Not that expensive when you get others to chip in. I've never seen a one man tailgate.

I have, and it was awesome. He even had his own little folding table and chair, topped with a single bag of chips.

Slow your roll. It is only $10 more than 2010. Also, you are the one who decided to buy an RV not the ISU parking nazi. If the fact parking costs would go up and it would be an issue you should have bought a Vespa (only $5 to park).

General Public (non-Cyclone Club member) Parking
There is limited general public (non-donor parking) single game parking at both Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum. For football games, this public parking costs $20 for cars and is available in Lots G2, G3, G4, G5, G8, G9 and, Vet Med Lot 93. RV parking for non-donors costs $40 in Lots G2, G3, G4, G5, G8, G9, and Vet Med Lot 93

Parking passes sold out so apparently they could've charged even more...

I check obscure ticket websites for parking passes. I have bought G7 passes off of websites for as low as $5.

    Re: FYI: Parking Prices

It may have been $40, thought it was $30 but I have been wrong before. Used to be just $25 a few years ago though. The thing that sucks with our crew usually is 2 or so of us will pull the RV in and park it then a lot of the people show up later and a lot of them park their cars in the lot so they don't feel like they owe us anything since they didn't come in with us so most of the time 2 of us wind up having to split the bill most weeks which sucks. Would be nice if more people would meet up with us when we go in but as some of you right out of college will eventually find out when you start getting into your 30's and all your friends get married and have kids, pulling into the tailgate lot at 5am for an 11am kickoff with half a dozen people or so becomes tough to pull off.
