On the bright side, he doesn't have to play for the Raiders now.

Well... let's hope maybe a practice squad somewhere was impressed with him, but being cut at this point ususally isn't a good sign. Best of luck to him. He was a damn good Cyclone.

    Re: Lamaak cut

Alot of Cyclone fans have been paying too much attention to the camp situations of various Cyclones. The fact is only one guy was invited to the combine, and that was Sims. Even he wasn't given a chance during the draft. With 6-7 draftees per team, plus a whole bunch of practice players, and free agents, plus the guaranteed returners, did anyone think a Cyclone other than Sims might stick? I have seen far better players from ISU, like Blythe and Lane Danielsen never get anywhere in the NFL. Sims, and possibly Franklin had chances to stick, but Franklin didn't, and who knows if Sims makes the cut.

And it's still early. They can easily land on another team....

But if you want to throw em under the bus, that's you prerogative.

You realize that the season is here, and they are going to make their rosters final right? The chances are over for the Cyclones this year who just got the axe. They could stay in shape and try again, or hit a practice team hard, but they are not making a roster for 2011-2012.

I wasn't taking too much stock in it. Just followed the guy on twitter and saw that and thought I would share with the rest of the fanatics. I am just a little surprised since he had been working with the 2s and I had read that we was doing pretty well.

But there careers are not over like you were trying to make it sound. I'm sure the god given athleticism you were given would have allowed you stay on a team.

Feel for him, but as a Denver fan I'm glad to see I don't have a reason to cheer for Oakland. Hope he finds another team.

it's not a death sentence, but it's definitely not a good sign for their NFL careers. After the draft, teams were actively pursuing undrafted rookies, and signing them. That won't be the case for a guy like Lamaak next year, as there will be an entirely new crop of rookies scrambling for spots.
