    Fantasy football question

So I have the #1 overall tomorrow in a twelve team league. Planning on taking Peterson. Anyways, with the second and third round would you take a WR and RB or WR and pick up a QB like Rivers? Trying to decide if waiting until the fourth to take a second RB would be worth it.

    Re: Fantasy football question

It depends on what the setup for the league is. I am one who takes the best players available. If the other teams have all taken QB's ahead of you and its down to the 7th or 8th QB then go with the best combination of WR's and RB's

I typically take RB 1 and 2, but I typically suck at fantasy football.

Is it a PPR league? From the 2 drafts I've done so far, the qb you'd be lookin at in the 2nd rounds are nowhere close to Rivers... More like Ryan, Flacco, Schaub, Big Ben... Might as well wait and take Stafford or Bradford in the 10th round and go RB, WR or RB, RB... Unless ofcourse for some ungodly reason someone like Rivers, Romo, etc falls to ya

No PPR...all my mock drafts have Rivers available around then but if he's not my decision becomes a lot easier and I would wait for Stafford or Bradford. I like where your heads at.

Take two WR's. It was my strategy last year and I won both of my leagues.

    Re: Fantasy football question

Take whoevers avaliable with ur 2nd n 3rd picks ... Id personally go wr and rb but it would depend on what qbs are left ... Now if you want a top qb and one of them were sitting there go for it with qb and a wr ... Gets you a top player at each position ... Now you could always try and press ur luck and see if romo will b sitting there when ur 4th pick comes up ...

Here is my 2-cents: draft 2 WRs.

If your league is like mine, that means a lot of the big name RBs and maybe 1-2 QBs will be taken before your picks @ #13 & #14. I like to load up on WRs as my league plays 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE (no flex position) and if I can have 2 (one year I had 3) of the top 4 receivers I can afford to have an average RB and QB as my WRs can make up the difference. Taking away the big-name WRs also gives you trade bait later in the season.

I would take Peterson, then a QB and WR. I think it is good to be balanced and have one elite RB, QB, and WR. You want to get either Vick, Rodgers, Brees, Rivers, or Brady. It all depends on who is still on the board though. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Blount this year, so getting him in the 4th or 5th round this year would make for a solid #2 RB.

Yeah, This is pretty spot on. Seeings how your next pick won't come until late in the second round I can almost guarantee you that all the elite QBs will be gone by then and especially if you're in a 12 team league. I've been in two drafts so far. I had the 4 pick in the 10 team and 7 pick in the 12 team. In the first draft I took Ray Rice, by the second pick all the elite QBs were gone (except Manning who I passed on) so I went with RB (MJD), WR (Hakeem Nicks) and then picked up Big Ben and later Freeman as a backup.

In the second draft I wanted to change up the strategy so I took an elite QB with the 7th pick. I was surprised at the number of QBs that went in the first round so there was still a decent RB by my second pick.

You can go into these drafts with a strategy in place but 9 times outta 10 it goes out the window based on how the rest of your league drafts as no two leagues draft alike it seems. I'll be curious to hear how your draft comes out.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

That worked great for a lot of people last year, as there was a huge drop off in quality of receivers from Andre Johnson and Roddy White. This year there is much better depth league wide at receiver. If I had the #1 pick, I would be grabbing Peterson with the first pick. I'm assuming your draft order is reversed each round? If so you will get your 2nd a 3rd picks back to back, and that's where I would take the best QB and best WR on the table.
