    Iowa Tailgating Questions

My parents, sister and brother-in-law are coming up for the Iowa game this year and my Dad plans to pull his camper up for us to stay in. Our intentions were to pull into the Vet Med College the night before the game. Well I just call the parking division to ask them when this lot opens and they tell me for the Iowa game only they are not going to open the lot until 6hrs before the game. The lady seemed new, so I told her thatnever use to do that. She said this is the first year they will be starting it.

Anyways, any idea of where we could park the camper and not have to move it at 3am?

We all know they are not going to have enough room for everyone to park alongside the road. Also, there is going to be a huge traffic jam with campers/rvs and students trying to get into the lots.

K-mart up the street. Or anywhere in that shopping complex where the movie theater is.

I didn't want to park 3 miles from the stadium. I guess I was wondering about as closer alternative to Vet Med.

I truly believe they are just saying this.

Park alongside the road queued up to get in the lot. When it becomes a safety issue (i.e. too many cars or too many big vehicles), they'll push you all into the lots. That's how we did it two years ago. We jumped in line at about 3:45 and only had to wait a little over half an hour before they let us in.

The major PITA that is getting a spot for the Iowa game was a big driver in my decision to get a donor pass.

A few years ago so many campers showed up they were forced to open lots the night before.

It will but when it does be ready for the trainwreck that follows.

We will be in the RV Friday night so we can happily drink while the trainwreck ensues.

    Re: Iowa Tailgating Questions

We are going up Friday night either way. Hopefully they open it up early.

Also, I am under the same idea that they say they aren't going to open them up all the time as well.
