He must be thinking the dollar will be worth so little that people will be burning it for heat.. then again, how could investing in it when its at an all-time high be a bad idea?

Might I suggest tungsten carbide for you? Very inexpensive, nice look and won't bend.

Just hope your bride to be doesn't like platinum (mine did).

Gold will not have a sustained drop until some adults show up in DC (hint- it's going to be a little while).

Sell it, document everything that happens, and then start a thread. It could possibly top the "forgot my kid at school" threads.

Got one of them myself. Won't scratch either. Highly recommend.

Re: Gold is sky high. Should I sell my wedding ring?

If your ring weighed 4.5 grams and was solid gold (which it isn't) then the gold value is about $278. Most rings are an alloy so it's probably 14K which would make the gold value around $162. Amounts are based on Gold prices at close. Gold took a dive today so the value might not be there any more. I know divorces cost more than $200. Your move.

Re: Gold is sky high. Should I sell my wedding ring?

I'm mildly disappointed. I felt for sure there would be at least one of these in this thread by now:

I'm not married, but I wouldn't recommend selling that ring. No wife would give up one of the signs that you're cheating (catching you not wearing your ring) .

This is no joke, a dude I work with traded in his wedding ring straight up for a shotgun at a pawn shop

Re: Gold is sky high. Should I sell my wedding ring?

I would consider selling my wedding ring - only if I felt like never getting any ever again. My wife would probably make Lorena Bobbit look as if she took it easy on her man. Not only would she separate me from my main man, she'd probably would permanently insert the biggest knife we own right between my shoulder blades.

Okay, I am exaggerating, however, while the wedding ring is only a symbol, it's one of those symbols you just don't mess with.

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

Global financial system is in trouble, going to hit Europe first, but it's all heading this way. We are no where near the top of the gold market.
