Albert Young signed by Jacksonville! A-Rob's opening in Minnesota?

Looks like the spot that best fits Alexander Robinson's strengths is open. There are two cut dates left in the NFL hopefully he can make an impression with his blocking/protection.

Was Albert still with the Vikings?

The Vikes purging a hawkeye is always a good thing.

Best of luck, A-Rob. He would do great in the new offense in Mn.

Albert was already off the Vikings. ARob is going to have to try and make the scout team. First 3 RB spots are taken.

Has Arob got into a preseason game yet this year and if so how did he do?

Last weekend against the Seahawks he had 2 carries for 7 yards. He had about close to those same stats the previous week, only he had a reception for about-10 yards - nothing really to base an opinion if he can play in the league or not. It's kind-of a bummer, as his only competition is former Florida State running back Lorenzo Booker and Booker has been impressive these past 2 games.

Fail. Albert Young was already gone from the Vikings.

ARob has 4 rushes for 10 yards and 1 catch for 11 yards. As stated he is probably trying to make the practice squad at this point behind AP, Gerhart, and Lorenzo Booker (Who has had a good preseson)... He has run hard when he has had the chance...and he has always amazed me with his ability to not take direct hits.

Practice Squad is his best shot.

I agree and the competition just got tougher. The Vikings just signed free agent RB Caleb King from Georgia after he was not selected in the recent supplemental draft. Most of the playing time in the upcoming 3rd preseason game usually goes to veterans and projected starters while rookies and free agents hope to get an opportunity in the 4th game.

I guess I hadn't heard he was cut, I knew he was injured at the end of last year. I was surprised to see him sign with Jacksonville.

Yeah, AY had a....uh...."Brett Favre experience" last year.

Re: Albert Young signed by Jacksonville! A-Rob's opening in Minnesota?

Who was the Vikings RB that had the long TD run at the end of the last game. I figured ARob was going against him for the practice squad position, but with the Georgia RB that will hurt his chances. Do they usually only have 1 RB on the practice squad?
