Russell was fat in college. Pryor is an elite athlete. If nothing else you can move him to TE. He went a little higher than most people were predicting but is there really that much difference between him and Cam Newton?

    Quick answer is yes.

Pryor is better athlete, with more potential imo. Never going to be a star QB, but I think he'll have a better career than Russell (doesn't take much)

Cam Newton won meaningful games his very first year on the field. Pryor had three years and did less than Newton accomplished in one.

Newton is slightly more accurate but has never read a defense in his life. I don't think either of them will ever be a very successful QB in the NFL but if Newton is worthy of the top overall pick, Pryor is certainly worthy of a 3rd rounder.

I don't expect him to have a horrible, train wreck, crap career like Russell did. But I don't expect him to do a whole lot at QB in the NFL.

Re: Pryor goes in 3rd rd of Supplemental Draft

Well, I think at this point I am happy we are not going to pay him Russell's salary... Could pay off somewhere on the field, betting it will not be QB, but I cant imagine he was expensive to get, or I hope not..

    EDIT:

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/68...ft-source-says

"A Raiders source told ESPN.com's John Clayton that the team is looking at Pryor more as receiver than a quarterback at the NFL level."

I went to college thinking I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted paychecks.

I actually like this pick. We dont draft well ever, so I dont mind giving up a pick next year for an elite athlete that played qb in college. He may never be great but considering the last few qbs weve had its worth a shot. If anything he is athletic enough to change positions

I'd say winning two BCS bowls is meaningful.

Am I the only one who thinks if an athlete can run a sub 4.5 40 then the Raiders want them?
