    CGC Scrimmage Recap

I am not asking for a play-by-play analysis or breakdown of every single player. But for any who attended, what are your general thoughts of the team? Are you more confident or concerned about certain areas? How did the videoboard/field look?

Appreciate the info! 2 weeks and counting!

Cheerleaders were hot, the band was great and the white helmets look great!

So great, in fact, that you could hear the band practicing on the opposite corner of campus from Jack Trice.

    (That's where we actually were)

    Re: CGC Scrimmage Recap

Pretty good scrimmage. Overall, the team looks good and will be much better than what we've seen the past few years. Both Jantz and Barnett had decent scrimmages. Jantz maybe a little better. I was little disappointed that in the final scrimmage they ran 1's vs 2's and Steele ran all 1's and Barnett ran all 2's. I would have like to see them mix it up a little. But, it is what it is. Let's get ready for UNI! Go State!

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

I would like to know how the field goal kicking game went. Did they let each guy have multiple attempts??

Besides Jantz standing out I was really impressed with Irving's size. Good upper body but great trunk and legs, and very athletic looking. He's got the body to become an all big 12 d-lineman. I really like the look of Daniels as a receiver, great size, fast, and as he learns the position and develops his receiving skills, he should be a receiver with the size and speed we've seldom had. He was getting good separation yesterday and made some nice catches, but dropped a td pass. Nealy didn't get many carries but wow does he have explosive speed.

Is Daniels at WR or TE right now?

Pretty sure he was at wide receiver. But the way we use our tight ends, he could have been there.
