    SI all Big 12

    Landry Jones - QB, Oklahoma (Junior) - 2011 Preseason All-Big 12 Team - Photos - SI.com

ISU got 3 players on the list

    KO
    Knott
    Leonard Johnson.

I find it hard to believe that we are only going to win 3 games this year. The cyclones are going to surprise.

The conference must be pretty weak on QB's if Landry Jones is considered the top QB.

The pic of Ryan Broyles (pic #5) made me laugh. Notice the CU cheerleader who is oblivious to the action right at her feet.

"Look at the pretty flags in the stands!"

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

    ???

Landry Jones is considered a top 15 pick in the NFL draft by pretty much everyone. He is 6'4 230 lbs. He very well may be the 2nd QB chosen this upcoming year.

    Schedule.
Our schedule isn't going to be much tougher than anyone else in the league--yes we do play 2 BCS teams in non-con, but everyone has 9 league games. Having 3 all-big 12 first teamers shows how much our talent has improved. 6 wins, at least...

Schedule is a challenge, but to me it seems more a matter of having some of the most likely wins needing to come on the road —*UConn, Baylor, Tech, K-State (Although I think there's no reason to lose to UConn regardless).

Seems like a taller order to steal a big win vs UT/A&M/OSU, even though we get them at home. Good to have Iowa at home, but I don't know how to read that game anymore, after the past couple of outings.

Still bracing for 4-8 because I don't know what to expect for offensive production. Would love to at least double the 3-win consensus, and I think it's possible.

Very good to see some respect on this list, now we need to surprises some people all year, I have a feeling 6-7 and a bowl is very reachable....

Yeah, but Oklahoma gets to play Iowa State while Iowa State HAS to play Oklahoma! That's what makes our schedule so much harder than theirs!

when did this list come out? if travis lewis makes the all big 12 team after missing the first 9 weeks of the season, he must be one hell of a player.

We probably won't get OU this year, although it would be a good road win to keep the upset streak alive. Aside from OU and maybe OSU, I don't think there is a team on our schedule that we can't stay with (conference wise).

Agreed, the UConn, Baylor, Tech, and K-State games are all winnable. We could go 0-4 thought too, which would be devastating to the rebuilding effort. I still think we're a better team than last year with the Defense mostly back and the Offense can't be much worse.*

*Well it can I guess, but if it is does we're in for a very long year.

    Have you ever played football?
    Do you watch football?
Landry Jones would start on any team in the country besides Stanford!
If we(ISU) ever get a QB as good as him, we will win 8+ games!

    Good luck with that.

The difference between needing 5 BCS wins for bowl eligibility compared to 3 (for most of the rest of the league) is pretty significant.

Plus, and this is a little mean, but the other conference teams have ISU on their schedule. That's only a bad thing for 1 conference foe and a push for a couple others.

At least that's how it looks before anyone plays a game.

May my posts be polite and not misunderstood. (And hopefully funny on occasion.)

And your last sentence says it all. I'm sure Texas and TTU have that opinion about us every year. Honestly, with the job Rhoads has done in 2 seasons, how anyone is still expecting nothing better than 3 wins/season is beyond me.
