    Nebraska did the right thing

Nebraska absolutely did the right thing for themselves. The Big 12 is disintegrating, and this week's recent revelations only contributed to what was bound to happen. Nebraska jumped from a sinking ship onto a stable one. That was absolutely the right thing for them to do. That we couldn't do the same is our fault, not theirs. We can't fault them for getting out while they could.

When the Big 12 does come to a final end, it will ultimately be the fault of Texas and the Longhorn Network more than any other single factor. That the Longhorn Network contracts were signed and sealed by December of last year, indicates that this thing was in negations for a very long time, likely well before Nebraska and the Big Ten started flirting with each other.

This article is right on the money. Infuriating, but right.

I will agree with you that Nebraska did what they had to do mainly because they were tired of Texas being the bully on their side of the street and Nebby said enough is enough we're moving to a new neighborhood.

Of course they did the right thing. How could anyone really make a valid argument otherwise? We would jump in 2 seconds if the Big 10 came calling.

Texas A&M wanting to leave conference does not equate to Big XII disintegrating. That is what talking heads want you to believe so you will listen to them , read their blogs, watch their shows, etc. Last I looked A&M is only 1 out of 10 teams. And is replaceable. This conference would be better with a BYU in a minute than with A&M. But the BIG XII should gamble first and try to get NOTRE DAME. They want to be independent, but they can still have their own network in this conference and they would make tons more money. Independence has not treated them well over the last 20 years. And UT has been pushing for them.

Re: Nebraska did the right thing

The Omaha sports media is loving this Big 12 demise talk. It is getting really old to listen to. Its not that they are reporting just some of the facts out there, they are rubbing it into the faces of the remaining Big 12 schools.

I feel conferences going to more than 12 schools will not be very good for college sports, but the Omaha media could care less. Just as long as the Bih 12 doesn't exist.

Great point about ND. Will they have some issues in a couple years scheduling with the Big Ten schools when they go to a 9 game conference schedule? ND may be forced to join a conference at some point, so why not make a big push now. ND would be great, but that's probably a pipe dream.

Re: Nebraska did the right thing

Yes. Nebraska did the right thing. We wouldve accepted a big 10 invite in a heartbeat as well.

That said, nebraska fans coming and saying how ****** the big 12 is because of various reasons such as revenue sharing are full of ****, as nebraska was fully behind those policies being there in the first place. They were fine with unequal treatment when they were the beneficiary. When it stopped benefitting them then they started complaining. So absolutely they made the right decision, but what pisses me off is when they come here and try to say they were standing up for us, or that they left because we wouldnt stand with them on things like the championship game at jerryworld.

What pisses me off about Nebraska and A&M is that they created the exact situation that drove them to leave.

If they had stood unified against Texas, we'd never be here.

Instead of doing that, they just bailed. IMO they're worse than Texas because of that. Yes, Texas is greedy, but Texas has also been willing to keep things together. Nebraska and A&M didn't even bother to try.

    This describes Nebby and Aggie.
