    Bundrage

I got the impression from the video that in ten days he could be our #4-5 WR. maybe I'm overreacting to the video, but I can't wait to see where he's at in six weeks.

    Re: Bundrage

During the live chat today Austen Arnaud said that he thinks Bundrage will be the first true frosh to see the field. I'm excited for the possibilities with him.

    Re: Bundrage

Messingham called him polished in an interview. Said he knows how to use his body and hands very well. I see the two deeps like this...

1st=Reynolds (SR), Darks (SR), Lenz/Horne (JR)
2nd=Horne/Lenz (JR), West (rFR), Bundrage (true)
    Next year...
1st= Horne (SR), Bundrage (Soph), Lenz (SR)
2nd= West (Soph), Jennert (JR), Lampkin/Ecby (hopefully rFR)

I was watching his HS QB's (Cord Sandburg sp?) video with a friend of mine and WR #11 from Manatee High jumped off the freaking screen. I knew we had a WR signed but didn't know what # Bundrage was. Thankfully, about 4 TD catches in I realized that #11 was a Cyclone!!!
From his HS video, what video I've seen from fall camp, and what the coaches have said about him, Bundrage will be very hard to sit. To me, he looks bigger than 6'1'' 180. If there was 1 freshman I could play this year on offense it would be Bundrage, with Standard being a close second. Bundrage is facing less depth and more position need, so he would get the nod for me. Absolutely LOVE this kid's upside.

    Re: Bundrage

As a Manatee High fan I have watched Bundridge for a couple of years now and he is a good one. He was every bit as good as Ace Saunders who started as a freshman for South Carolina last year. I never could understand why my Gators didn't go after both of those kids.

BTW you guys are one of about 5 or 6 schools Cord Sandberg is looking at. Coach Kinnan says at this point in his carieer Cord may be the best QB he has ever had. That is saying something considering All Americans Tommy Fraizer and Willie Taggert played for Kinnan at Manatee.

As a freshman backup to current Nebraska QB Biron Carnes Cord had an .875 completion percentage and a 160 QB rating, as a sophmore starter last year he had a .760 completion percentage and a 135 QB rating and rushed for over 600 yds.

    Re: Bundrage

I don't know if he plays this year. He doesn't really have the body type to help on special teams. If he's the 6th WR or even 5th, slightly ahead of Jennert on the outside, is it worth it to play him? I'd rather RS him and have him ready to go once Money and Darks are gone.

    My thoughts on TRFR playing:

    1. Miller 100% - He's going to play no matter what.
    2. Lampkin 75% - I think he starts Game 1 on KOR and as a gunner on kick coverage.
    3. Pompey 40% - IF his knee heals well, I think they could use him in the rotation...depending on whether Simon makes it.
    4. Irving 40% - He may be too good to keep off the field.
    5. Lynn 30% - They need to start grooming a replacement for LJ and if he's better than Matt Thomas, he's going to need the snaps.
    6. Bundrage 20% - He's going to be good, but he's pretty skinny and could use a year in the weightroom.

I don't see anyone else having a shot unless there are major injuries at a position.

Have you seen the production out of our passing game the last two years? I think anyone will be given the chance. Bundrage is also as old as some redshirt freshmen already. Everyone can put on weight, but he is already physically mature for his class.

If Bundrage can produce you play him regardless of what class he is in. Our passing game has to improve to make us a dangerous eam offensively.

I agree with Miller, question Lampkins, I don't think they will rush Pompey back(especially with more of a confident response about Simon in CPR I-view, plus I think the Jensen and Woods comments were more to motivate them). I personally think Irving is closer to 60%, with his speed adds huge wedge on kick-off, ( I am soo excited about this kid for the future, put 20 lbs on him and keep or improve his speed and athletism, I think Lynn will RS, Thomas had a good pick six in scrimmage, I think there is mor depth at CB too, Bundrage I would go more to the 40% range with Mess's I-view

    Re: Bundrage

Brundrage has a much higher chance to start than Lampkins and Pompey. Pompey just had knee surgery. That's tough on a guy that weighs 320.

I think the biggest problem with Bundrage was academic risk. There was a good article a while back from a Flordia newspaper talking baout how Manatee was making strides to ensure their students would qualify for these offered athletic acholarships. I know him and Pompey were risks. You guys landed a very good WR anyways in Story, so Bundrage may have become a less important recruit after that.

I think the knee injury may be why the kid weighs over 3 bills. Not all good weight IMO.

I would bet money Pompey doesn't see the field this year. I don't think he is in shape because of the injury, not to mention the injury itself. You redshirt him, rehab him the right way and get him strengthened for the next four years. Bundrage probably has a better shot to play than anyone outside of Miller. He has the ability to play inside or outside and all reports are great on him, so I think he finds time. Otherwise, I agree.

So we are going to start comparing Pompey to Nick Fairley based on...?

Wow, we are reaching a little bit here. Its alright to be excited, but lets not expect the world of the kid.

    My thoughts on TRFR playing:

    1. Miller 100% - He's going to play no matter what.
Don't say that--that's when bad things happen!

    2. Lampkin 75% - I think he starts Game 1 on KOR and as a gunner on kick coverage.
I am kind of curious. If he and West have identical size and similar skills--why wouldn't West play those roles, and Lampkin redshirt for a year of separation?
    3. Pompey 40% - IF his knee heals well, I think they could use him in the rotation...depending on whether Simon makes it.
I think that would depend on how desperate they are. If one of the top three gets injured, maybe, but rehab and conditioning can have a major impact on preparation.
    4. Irving 40% - He may be too good to keep off the field.
That would include the aforementioned special teams. Jamaine Billups freshman year was wasted--except for one single special teams play that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.
    5. Lynn 30% - They need to start grooming a replacement for LJ and if he's better than Matt Thomas, he's going to need the snaps.
Another guy that could help on ST--but he might need the redshirt more.

    6. Bundrage 20% - He's going to be good, but he's pretty skinny and could use a year in the weightroom
To counterpoint my last response--did you see how skinny Stills was for OU last season?? That guy was a stick!

I don't see anyone else having a shot unless there are major injuries at a position.
I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see Standard or Nealy out there, the former especially. He's another I think could help on ST.
