I hope for Gundy's sake there's more to this story, otherwise he looks like a fool.

He looks like a fool? More like that dumb *** of a construction worker looks like a fool who needs to pay attention to just exactly whose house he is going to work on.

He had every right to do so but, come on, lighten up a bit. Heart attacks are meant for people like him.

I don't see how gundy is going to win this one. Even though I understand his feelings, it doesn't justify the firing. But we shall see.

I agree, if those facts in the story are right it doesn't look like grounds to break a contract. Might be more to it though. Either way, he can afford it.

I hate the part of america that thinks they can sue for anything. I'll be on gundy's side.

If they had a signed contract and all the guy did was wear an Oklahoma t-shirt to the job, then he doesn't have the right to break the contract over something so trivial. Like I said, I've got to believe there's more to this story, because I can't believe Gundy would be that petty and stupid. If he was, then he's going to have to pay.

All this says is that it's worth $30,000 to Mike Gundy to not have an Oklahoma fan work on your house. That's dedication.

You don't think people should be able to sue for breach of contract?

He should have said that he wears the Oklahoma shirts while working because they will get dirty and torn up. When he goes out he wears his OSU shirts.

Also couldn't Gundy just have given an OSU shirt to the guy? I bet he had several laying around that he could have done this with.

Particularly when the work is for 1/4 of the year and $30k. (yes, I know in principle the amount should matter - a breach is still a breach)

That really depends on the wording of the contract.

Re: Mike "I'm Man" Gundy fires construction worker

If the story is true as written in the link, then Gundy is the only villian here, and frankly I'm surprised that anyone is taking his side.

Throwing a hissy fit and swearing at a guy because he's wearing an Oklahoma baseball t-shirt that he offered to turn inside out and not accepting his apology? Classy move there Gundy. Damn, I shudder to think about what happens when the milk gets spilled in that house.

Might want to think about switching to decaf there Mike.
