    UCONN Article

Connecticut returns to Big East with UConn
    By PAT EATON-ROBB

    Associated Press

The Huskies open on Sept. 1 at home against Fordham. They have one of the league's easier non-conference schedules, facing Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Buffalo and Western Michigan.

Good locker room material. I think UCONN will have their hands full two or three of those games and could lose two or three (Vandy, ISU & WMU).

    Re: UCONN Article

I just don't get the UCONN confidence. They were an average team in a below average football conference last year. They lost their best players, and they have a new coach. If this game was in Ames, it would probably be in the books as the easiest win on the schedule for me. Yes, over UNI. The only reason why I can find a little bit of hesitancy is that we travel out there.

Their defense is stout. They return the entire DL with a couple NFL prospects included. In addition most of the secondary returns as well.

They won't be a push over by any means.

They've been winning a lot lately so of course they have some swagger.

I really hope we beat the **** out of UCONN. I hated how they played the game of there life against us in 2002 in Ames.

Picking them last is pretty odd given the rest of his writeup. One of the better defenses in the league and the best O-Line in the league doesn't seem like a recipe for last place.

Sounds familiar as we basically return our entire DL and have great experience in the secondary. Plus, apparently we have a couple pretty good LBers.

Should be a good matchup. Would be a great win to get on the road before the UT game.

    Re: UCONN Article

Having an NFL running back to carry the load all year and chew up the clock will make your defense look better.

They also had a different coaching staff and that goes a long way towards effectiveness. Look what Wally was able to do with almost the same guys that Bolt had in year one.

I have a feeling that their D will look worse this year without the same offenseive production especially in the running game.
