    Iowa State vs. Iowa Game

I'm bored today, and I'm missing football a lot. So just for fun, what do you think this game looks like for us? I like our defense, but our offense is a huge question mark for me. Hawks seem to think this game might be closer this year (but they think they have a lot more talent than us). I'm thinking we win by a touchdown.

    Focus is on league play.

Re: Iowa State vs. Iowa Game

I think it'll be close at half but they wear us out in the 2nd half with superior depth. I'll say 24-16 Hawks.

*Edit. As an aside, I'll now be predicting Iowa in this game until CPR shows us he can compete with them. Under McCarney, ISU had a clear mental advantage over Iowa, that's gone now. I think this series really took a turn for the worse when ISU blew a very winnable (and one they had control of) game in Iowa City in '08.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

It would be nice to score a first half TD for once in this series. That's my first goal for this game.

I agree with this, I could see a very close game at half, but the Iowa OL and Coker will be to much in the 2nd half and control the clock and Iowa wins something like 24-14 or 31-17.

Re: Iowa State vs. Iowa Game

i don't care if we win 3-0. our fans take a back seat pretty quick with all the i just hope my feelings don't get hurt attitude.

so how many points will iowa start the game with this year since they beat us so bad last year? don't tell me you don't have to think like a player because i know you don't. but you are a fan, i think, and fans shouldn't run down their own team.

Game will be closer.. will be within 10 pts if we lose. I would like to say this is a no brainer ISU victory on the betting circuit, but with a new QB and Center i will not. I will however still say ISU should win this game. Based on the fact Iowa also has a new QB. Our defense will not allow 275 yards rushing again this year. I beleive we win the Turn Over battle 3:1. Iowa will have a completely new Dline, and they lose Sash who has killed us. They will replace, but will not be world beaters.

We score on twice on plays over 30 yards.
We return 1 kick past the 50.
We have 3 interceptions. (get them not give them)
Woody, Rabbit, and 1 other combine for 150 yards rushing.

    Score ISU 24 Iowa 13

My one concern is there ball control ability with that line and running back, and big play ability with McNutt. I have a feeling Benton, Johnson, Klein, Knott, and Lat are going to have big days.

Re: Iowa State vs. Iowa Game

I wouldn't be surprised if ISU came out with a 14-3 lead at halftime. Maybe end 17-10 good guys. I only say this because we have a good idea what their game plan will be and thats run Coker 150 times to which I think our defense will make the important stops that Stanzi was able to outperform our weak defense last year. With a stronger defense, that should even the playing field. On offense, I believe they will have no idea what ISU will be looking to do which will give us a much larger advantage, especially is Steele wins the job and shows significant improvement. Of course, this is contingent on the fact that Rhoads will hold back some tricks during the UNI game. Or...the sky could fall and they win 24-6 and we never get the offense clicking. :P

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Focus is on UNI now... then a week's worth of dedication to Iowa. If you think anyone with the team is thinking about any Big XII team before the UConn game is over, you are mistaken.

I agree. Mac owned Ferentz in these matchups, now Ferentz has owned CPR. Until CPR and the boys take one from the bad guys, Iowa has to be favored. In order to be the king, you have to take the throne.
