    Is the Iowa game Sold-Out??

I haven't heard anything about this which is weird considering the amount of air-time it received when Jamie's plan was announced.

    What gives?

    Sell-out or not a sell-out?

I thought someone said that some of the larger businesses would step in and buy the remaining season tickets. Has that happened?

    I don't think it's a sellout. They're expecting around 49,000. The UNI game drew 57,000.

Empty seats in this one is a shame. Hopefully it doesn't show on TV, not that anyone else in America will be watching.

I didn't even know I had the VS Network prior to this.

I have a sneaky feeling that something weird is going to happen...and by weird, I mean good.

I doubt there will be many empty seats at all but the hill sides won't look that full.

Why is it a shame if there are empty seats? I'm not being argumentative, but I've heard this from others and I don't quite understand.

We have more than made up for any lost revenue with increased season ticket sales. Empty seats would be the result of requiring season tickets to get into this game. But, it was a gamble that certainly paid off.

Plus, if we sold all those empty seats as single game tickets, a significant number would go to EIU fans.

Pollard should be congratulated for keeping EIU fans out and increasing ticket revenues.

I predict next year ISU will sell out of season tickets if Pollard does the same thing with the Nebraska ticket.

I think the atmosphere is better in a jam-packed stadium.

This game should be a sell-out every year, regardless of where it's played.

This kind of thinking is exactly why we are mediocre. We are finally planning for the future, instead of using quick fixes.

I do not think you will notice a big difference between 49-50K versus the announced 56K on Saturday.

For those in the grass it will be a little more comfortable.

Are you aware of the reasoning behind the marketing of this game? It's only been hash, rehashed, picked apart, built up, and exhaustively discussed for the last 6 months on every Iowa media source.

Re: Is the Iowa game Sold-Out??

To me, its another game on the schedule. One that would be slightly nicer to win than others simply because EIU fans would not be as obnoxious on Monday. But on Tuesday they'd be right back to it.

As for atmosphere, I think we've had more fans at the last two games against UNI than we have had for any game against EIU. Maybe you could make that your game of choice for the season.

Actually, for atmosphere I really like it when A&M is in the Jack. They have the most impressive cheering section of any team I have ever seen. And a great band.

Atmosphere is better yes, but the 57,000 record did not help us win over UNI. I stand behind Pollard.

I predict you are horribly wrong. I think it would be a miracle if we sold over 30,000.

Yeah, our atmosphere has been "suckage" so far this season and I don't expect it to get much better. Rough year all the way around.

I don't see this happening next year. This year is the perfect storm. Iowa, Texas and Oklahoma all coming into town. A new coaching staff and high enthusiasm.

If anything, I could see the Nebraska game packaged with one other game. I just don't think it would work again like it did this year.
