    Re: TV in dorms?

It was the standard channels back when I was in Freddy. My TV was also able to pick up the main broadcast channels in HD.

Good times on Hawkeyenation.com after the 2010 Wisconsin Game!

Standard cable. If you want more HD, go to mediacom on South Dayton Ave and get a HD receiver. It costs 11.20/month.

I remember my freshman year (wow...was that 10 years ago?!?!?!) we ended up with HBO. You were supposed to pay extra for it, but somehow everybody got it for free. Got to watch Band of Brothers - good stuff!

    Channel Lineup - Mediacom

It's the broadcast basic, family cable, digital broadcast basic, digital family cable, and digital HD broadcast basic, if your tv can get all of those.

    Re: TV in dorms?

Lot of your basic cable channels. Lot of HD channels too. Sometimes hard to find(they are all in the 50's, 52-1 52-2 52-3 etc...)

    Really all you need.

Those are digital, not HD. The only HD channels you will get will be ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox (which I'm not sure if it is always HD, but it is for NFL football at least on 17-1)

    outrageous

Then digital is a giant improvement over standard. I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between digital and HD.

Other than the TV, what do I need to bring in order to get the cable service? Just that cord (forgot the name) that connects into the wall?
