Looks Like Iowa is just outside the top 25. So there are 6 top 30 teams on the schedule.

I know it's tough to not rank the defending champion but I don't see Auburn winning more than 7 games so I think #19 is to high

Agreed. I also hope the sqawks come to Ames ranked after week one and CPR finally puts it to them with a good game plan and a win.

I believe this defense will have us in a lot of games. Here's to hoping that Steele is our "breath of fresh air" @ QB and makes us a very competitive team this year that SHOULD go bowling.

Re: Preseason USA Today Coaches Poll Released

Surprised that UT is in the top 25, but then again I am not sure that they can have as much went wrong last year to go wrong this year... Too much talent there. Will be interesting to see if it really was the coaching.

Not sure that the Big 12 deserves 3 teams in the top 10 and I expect both A&M and OSU to finish outside the top 15.

Interesting that #3 and #4 meet in the Will Lyles bowl to open their season..

I expect both tOSU and TCU to drop out of the top 25 at some point and make a late run to finish in the 20's

I think Auburn has a hard time getting over .500

Anyone want to make their own outlandish predictions? Something that could happen that would shock the CFB world...

I say that Michigan State wins the Big 10 and a 3 loss team will represent the Pac-12 in the Rose Bowl.

I think OU goes to the NCG and aTm finishes second in the B12 (finishing inside the top ten). Don't know about the Pokes...

ESPN Gameday makes their first trip to Ames when undefeated ISU plays host to undefeated aTm on October 22.

If we win 6 regular season games, I don't see any way we could lose our bowl game

Not that this would be a huge shocker, but I think this is one of those years with no undefeated teams and something like 3 or 4 1-loss teams, so everyone complains about who is in the NC game....

    Interesting.....

Big 12 = three teams in the top 10 (ZERO from the mighty Big 10) and 5 in the top 25. Yet somehow we are to believe (by the dumb ***** on local sports radio) that if TX goes independent the confrence will fold. Yea, the new Big 12 is made up of just the Mighty Texas and the 9 dwarfs.

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives…..

I am pleasantly surprised at Mizzou's ranking. Many pundits have virtually written them off this year because Gabbert went pro.

James Franklin's effectiveness is a huge question mark, but the rest of the team is by far the best of Pinkel's career.

Nebraska at 11 and Notre Dame at 18. I feel queasy.

I get that Martinez is faster than *&^%, but he throws like *&^% too.
