    Another good Niang Interview

Player Perspective: Georges Niang - ESPN Boston

"Cyclone Nation has supported me to the fullest, and I can only love that, because that's where I'm going to be playing, and these are the people that are gonna be supporting me. I can't wait to get out to Ames."

I'm consistently being impressed by the poise Niang shows in interviews. I'm excited to see him in the Cardinal and Gold.

He seems like a great version of Kenny Pratt. Has no natural position but just get's it done. Kind of has an unusual playings style but gets rebounds and so on. Excited to have him coming to Ames.

Thanks for posting this interview. I wasn't even aware that he had spoken to anyone but as with any parent of a teenager, we are always the last to know. Thank you Cyclone Nation for the Georges love!

Call it a spidey sense, but I just know this is a kid that you absolutely love to have on your team, or other team's fans hate him and can't wait for him to graduate. Cannot wait to see him in a Cyclone uniform!

Georges will help lead us to redemption. He will win a big XII championship while he is a Cyclone.

    Re: Another good Niang Interview

Every time I read something from Georges 3 words come to mind. Pride, which is awesome because he hasn't even been in Ames or on campus for a long enough amount of time (just his visit I'd assume) to fully appreciate it. Leadership, the kind of mentality he displays in every interview/tweet/whatever screams leader to me and that down the line he'll be the kinda guy who will step up as a leader on the team. And Dedication, the guy is always talking goals or motivation.

Here's hoping that all translates to Big 12 title in the next 5 years. Also hope that he doesn't lose that energy and excitement if he gets to Ames and everything isn't going 100% right from the start. I'd guess it could be easy to feel very discouraged if you're that high on the fanbase and there is a meltdown after a bad loss. Seems like he is the kind of guy that won't fall prey to that, and as long as he stays motivated he and the Clones he plays with will be part of a team that is going to go places.

You hit the nail on the head. That's Georges! Would it be bragging to tell you that he has been the co-captain or captain on the basketball team @ Tilton for the past 2 years and that he was elected Student Body President for the upcoming school year?

You have every right to be proud. It's going to be hard waiting a year for Georges to arrive in Ames.
