    Randy Moss retires

Randy Moss Decides To Retire - Des Moines News Story - KCCI Des Moines

Kinda surprising, he is not the old Moss, but he is still a huge threat.

    Re: Randy Moss retires

I'll bet if the right offer came along, he'd find his way back to the field.

That said, the dude was an amazing WR. He was a "love him or hate him" kind of player, but there's no doubt that he had incredibly ability.

He can't afford to retire. He'll be back.

widertnattylt: To be fair, Randy Moss retired on run plays about 10 years ago. Today he's just retiring from passing plays as well.

Most talented receiver to ever play the game. His work ethic, heart, and attitude kept him from using all his ability. Could have been the greatest.

    Re: Randy Moss retires

No doubt in my mind the best WR that ever played. The Patriots didn't want to pay him or give him a long-term contract. Patriots are cheap and they try and score deals with stars that have looked washed up or not in their prime.

Bingo. Not many athletes put up numbers like he did and still leave you thinking that they left something on the table.

Dude retires as most overrated WR of all-time. #2 in a lot of WR stat categories, played on 15-1 and 16-0 teams and zero rings.

Randy "What could have been" Moss.

I agree with the "What could have been" sentiment, because had he applied himself he would have shattered the receiving records, but I disagree that he was overrated. He averaged 12 receiving TD's per season for his entire career. That's better than Jerry Rice (10), TO (10), Cris Carter (8), Marvin Harrison (10).

No receiver has ever scored at the rate he did. That's not overrated.
